Exchanging Saving Privite Ryan WS 5.1 at Best Buy for the DTS version?

I received Saving Privite Ryan last month as a gift and it is the regular one. Would Best But let me just exchange it for the DTS version? It is still in its factory sealed condition and could probably be put right back on the self. I just want the DTS version.

If it's like my local BB, if you don't have a receipt/gift receipt they won't take it. Period.

I made this exact same exchange at Best Buy two years ago.
Hope it works for me. Sometimes a nice clerk can make all the difference... (and if it doesn't work there, there are other stores).

If you don't have a receipt, Best Buy will let you make an exchange--but only 3 of them in 6 months.

If you have had you 3 non-receipt returns/exchanges, then you can just forget it--unless you have a good employee that doesn't follow the Best Buy policy by-the-book!

After I had my 3 exchanges, I brought them a sealed DVD with the BB sticker still attached and asked for an exchange--not a refund. They just wouldn't do it!

I wrote to corporate twice and explained that I'm a preferred customer and buy lots of items from them (the most recent a $600 digital camera just weeks before). They responded and only addressed the issue of having a receipt to make an exchange. They NEVER even addressed the loyal customer argument.

Since then I've taken a different outlook on Best Buy. If they are the only vendor with a great deal, I'll buy from them. But if I can find a similar deal elsewhere, that's where I do my business!

That way I don't have to worry about Best Buy's "customer satisfaction" policy!
