DeepdiscountDVD Promotion Code???

Hi,

Does anyone have the latest Promotion Code for DeepdiscountDVD?

Where can one be kept up to date with the various codes.
Thanks.

djones6746 02-08-03 05:46 PM

I do not believe they have one currently.....

murpm3 02-08-03 05:46 PM

DDD usually never has promotional codes.....their prices beat everyone online after shipping, so many of us order from them because of their great prices and good customer service. They havent needed to have coupons to please us!

By the way...a simple search would have given you the same results that I just gave you....just a tip for future reference.

ernestrp 02-08-03 05:53 PM

Sometimes they do but not very often. I think before Xmas they had 5.00 off 100.00 order.

Once I complained about an order with them on Dvdtalk and they sent me a 10% off an order code but that was along time ago and they never did again.

I agree they have good prices but good customer service? C'mon

DVD DVD DVD 02-08-03 06:01 PM

I have bought over $400 worth of DVD's from them in the past year. DDD not only has the best price on most DVDs, they also have one of the friendliest customer serivce team of all online e-tailers.

Delivery can be slow at times, usually 2 weeks from the date of order, but for that kind of prices and free shipping, I am patient.

It seems that some e-tailers are rather jealous of DDD eating into their DVD business, and lately there have been some threads popping up here and there complaining of DDD's customer service. Frankly I suspect that some of those posters are working for DDD's competitors, and it is rather unethical.

You only call up customer service when there is a problem. I only had to call them up 3x, out of all the orders I have placed with them, and they have all been resolved without any problems.

Usually 2 weeks from date of order??

Jeez...I guess I've just had good luck with them. I usually get mine in a week max, a lot of time sooner. I always get preorders on the release date or ealier (with 2 or 3 exceptions). I've placed 43 orders with them in the last year, and haven't had one single problem.

DVD DVD DVD 02-08-03 06:18 PM

Okay, maybe I exaggerated a little, really about a week and a half, sometimes sooner.

Duckie 02-08-03 06:36 PM

My experience with customer service at DDD is about as good as one could hope for. There's been short hold time, if any at all... and quick friendly resolution to any problems.

Dane 02-08-03 06:38 PM

Thanks for all the replies.

TheOne 02-08-03 07:42 PM

I agree they have pretty good prices and customer service. Had a problem with a defective disc (waited a month or 2 o wait it). They sent me a prepaid label. Once they received it, they sent out a new one.

Shipping is about a week to two from my experience. Although my Predator 2 preorder, they shipped a week earlier and got it on release date! Pretty good. Hopefully that would happen on my other preorders like Rocky 3.

That's your reward for living just one state away ... I've received items in one week's time, but 10-14 days is the usual for me.

Conspiracy Theory

Hey, maybe you work for DDD. ;)

darkside 02-09-03 12:28 AM

I buy quite a bit from them. The website has been slow at times, but lately its much improved. They are very helpful on the phone and I am very happy with their service.

ANOTHER Conspiracy Theory

Maybe you work for the companies trying to tarnish DDD's name? ;)

zembla 02-09-03 12:39 AM

i'd put another vote in the negative category for deep discount. i placed two orders with them last year -- waited 3 weeks + shipping on both of them (to the extent that a december 7th order did not arrive in time for christmas! and an email to customer service did not even elicit a response much less an apology). on the first order, i sent emails to customer service, and they misstated when the item would be sent (they said it was shipped several days before it was actually shipped). perhaps their phone customer service is better? moreover, a friend used deepdiscount, waited 3 weeks like i did, and was shipped 1 of 2 ordered dvds plus a different dvd she never ordered which they billed her for and which she had to go out of her way to return.
who knows, but for me it's been A LOT of aggrivation with deepdiscount. be warned.

Umm...I think you people have a problem.

blemansk 02-09-03 02:30 PM

I just noticed that DDD is about 25 miles away from where I live. They don't happen to actually have a store do they? That would be sweet!

Oh well, at least shipping doesn't take too long. I just wish I could go pick it up.

Not too long ago, I read in a post that, yes, you can buy DVDs in person. They do not have a "store" per se but a customer service office attached to their warehouse. Someone claimed to have bought and picked DVDs up in person. I can't remember which thread I saw this in anyway. All you would have to anyway is give them a call and ask.

Has anyone noticed that most of the posters complaining about DDD are new posters? While the ones defending DDD are senior level posters and above?

Just pointing out some obvious trends.

5th_Wheel 02-09-03 04:15 PM

I've received good service from ddd. At times their shipping is a little slow, however they do a great job of packaging my titles so waiting a few extra days for delivery is no biggie to me.

Vampyr 02-09-03 04:36 PM

I'm not sure if it still works, but try 01126 for $5.00 off $100.00. I know it's not much for a $100.00 order, but their prices are great to begin with.

kmcrowl 02-09-03 05:11 PM

Never had a problem with DDD. Takes about 1 week to receive DVD's here in Missouri. About the internet average for me. Just got my Repo Man tin. No dents!

Mountain Biker 02-09-03 05:12 PM

Chalk up another highly satisfied customer here. They run a good business and their customer service is excellent. I've purchased many DVD's from them over the past couple years, and the only time I've ever had to call is to have a 'floater' replaced (which is done so in a courteous and timely fashion).

:thumbsup: for DDD prices and customer service.

uvalaw2005 02-09-03 05:32 PM

Another thumbs up to DDD... I also like that they change prices well in advance for upcoming price-drops, saving me on a couple occasions from spending $10-$15 more than I needed to...

Minted_Llama 02-09-03 06:56 PM

DDD is great!!

There, just wanted to buck the trend.

wb3032 02-09-03 09:49 PM

DDD is great have not problems at all.

mine did. but i love them anyways

shaka 02-09-03 10:09 PM

DDD Customer Service resent a dvd I did not receive with no questions asked. I have been ordering from them for 2 years with no problems.

murpm3 02-09-03 10:19 PM

One thing that should be noted....DDD does use media mail shipping as their free shipping method....

This mail is one of the more slower USPS services...but hey its free shipping right.

Once thing I do notice, is in times of holiday shipping media mail takes much longer to reach its destination.

pro-bassoonist 02-10-03 12:25 AM

Another pleased dvdtalker here! These people are great and I respect their business big time.

Since they first started back in the days (well, I actually remember when they had their name mentioned in all kinds of adds on the radio up in Chiacgo)...so it has been a little over 2 years and they have taken my business 100%.

The only "problem" I have is that I wish they had a bigger "foreign" selection but....I AM STILL PLEASED!!

number 2 on my list is definitely DVDEMPIRE......but have not bought anything from them in a long time.

As far as the store goes.....its not just a warehouse.....and it is in Itasca....about 45 min away from where I live in Des Plaines!!

magicman 02-10-03 07:22 AM

DDD has always shipped my orders promptly, although media mail can sometimes take a while to arrive. The delivery times are pretty consistent with what it takes for a lot of orders on half.com, so I believe it's the handling time for USPS media mail.

DiscoD 02-10-03 08:35 AM

Count me as another satisfied customer. Consistently great prices and I can live with the ship "delay". Not a bad benchmark for others.

hmmmm, that is an interesting observation.
I'm honestly shocked to see this many negative posts about DDD.

Amazon and DDD in my experience are the two most reliable places to buy dvds when it comes to customer service. Never have problems getting people on the phone and they always fix any problems without a hassle.

Scot1458 02-10-03 09:09 AM

have used them many times, shipping is slow, but so far, so good.

Dah-Dee 02-10-03 09:54 AM

I've ordered from DDD several times with no problems. My first order with them was also my first experience with media mail shipping, so I was a little frustrated with how long it took to arrive, but now that I know what to expect it doesn't bother me. I've got plenty of unwatched DVDs and unplayed Gamecube games to keep me occupied while new stuff is in transit!

murpm3 02-10-03 10:24 AM

DDD is the place I always go when I dont feel like looking around for the best deal...

Many times you can find a coupon to make a deal a little better, but when I just want to order a few dvds...I will go to DDD just because I know im getting the best price after shipping and I trust their service.

I agree with a previous poster....I have always trusted DDD and Amazon for their service and customer service.

Ginwen 02-10-03 10:25 AM

DDD is excellent. Since I'm on the West Coast, free shipping is slow, but that's not really their fault.

I have twice had problems with DVDs I recieved (scratched) and both times they sent out a new one right away, even before I returned (at their expense) the old ones.

ScottyWH 02-10-03 11:13 AM

No complaints here.

DJ_Longfellow 02-10-03 11:16 AM

Ok, so WHERE IS THE BARGAIN HERE??????
