I got Goldmember in Full Screen! Can i exchange it for widescreen?

For Christmas I received a copy of Goldmember on DVD, but sadly it was in full screen. My relative informed me that it was purchased at Wal-Mart. Can I exchange the full screen DVD for a widescreen copy, even I don't have the receipt? Thanks!

Shouldn't be a problem, especially with tons of returns right now.

Yep, had to do the same with ATOC. Not a problem if you have an hour to kill.

Try Suncoast in most malls...they accept DVDs with no receipts as long as you will trade or upgrade to a special edition as I did today with the Replacement Killers...

I bought Star Wars from Toy R Us when it was $9.99. But all they had were Full Screen. A few weeks later, I took the DVD to Circuit City and told them that someone bought me this DVD for my Birthday and got me the wrong version. Of course I didn't have a receipt and I asked them if they could swap me the unopen full version for the widescreen version. They said that it wasn't a problem. So I don't think you will have any problem switching the DVD if it is unopen.

I second Suncoast. I've gotten several Fullscreen DVDs for Christmas over the past years, and they've always been cool about exchanging them for me.

Do what I do, take it in and say it's defective, cuz the picture on the side is missing. I've never had a problem. If there's no Suncoast nearby, try Wal-Mart.

I tried it at Best Buy, and they said that if it was a gift, i'd need a gift receipt. So, i guess i should just ask the person who gave it to me for a gift receipt

That BB location is suck. i really hate going there. The employees there are... oh wait i'm digressing again basically, YMMV.

Try returning the dvd at BB. In their post-christmas time, they are lax about returns without receipts.
