Amazon improved their coupon ordering?

We had a big problem in October where you'd apply a coupon, it would look like it applied, but then when the order was finished, the coupon was gone.

It appears that Amazon has fixed this. Do others agree?

(I still encounter coupons disappearing if you make a change AFTER the coupon has expired - like on pre-orders, but this is about having coupons disappear right when you order.)

I had two recent orders at Amazon.ca where I got split shipping. The first part of the orders both shipped with the coupon applied, but the remaining part had the coupon applied of '--$10.00' - that is to say it added $10 to the order. Something similar happened at Amazon.com a couple of months ago.

I haven't had any problems of the type you encountered though.

No problem with an order I placed yesterday using a coupon, STL, free shipping, and a GC. Any predictions on the next glitch Amazon will have with their site?

Yeah, used to be that every Amazon had at least one problem that I had to call after it shipped to fix. The last few have been going through just fine. The double negative thing does show up but is fixed when they ship.

I can't predict what their next glitch will be. All I know is that I've been using Amazon for several years, and have never encountered any glitch until last month, where I encountered 3 glitches:

1) charge shipping when it's suppose to be free.

2) tax when there is no tax.

3) a new amazon.com credit card authorization failed on amazon.ca.

But so far amazon has been very quick in correcting their glitches. So I'm only slightly annoyed with those glitches but will continue to shop there.

The coupon problem "suprisingly" cleared up after Oct 1 for me. Basically, once the fiscal quarter ended, I was refunded for the coupons they hadn't applied and all of my orders since then have gone through without a problem. I expect the next coupon errors to show up around March, when the first quarter ends, as they will need the extra money to make them look profitable. The fourth quarter, they will sell enough with the holidays to not need their "mistake".

So, given no other comments, I think they did fix this specific problem, not that they don't still have others.
