Typical CA->US delivery times?

I've only ordered from a canadian-based DVD online retailer once, and was so put off by the delivery time (6-8 weeks, if I remember correctly) that I never gave another canadian-based retailer a chance.

However, I'd like to know what other people's experience has been. Judging an entire economy based on one incident isn't the best way to get a clear picture of things.

I've ordered several times from Canadian etailers -- DVDMode and A&B Sound. Each air parcel took about 8 days. In normal trading by airmail, Canada usually takes from 6 to 14 days, so that appeared pretty normal. Maybe your etailer got it out late, or didn't use airmail?

Bringing up this thread.
I would also like to know how long it has taken shipments from Amazon.ca to get to the US.

Amazon Canada shipping time to US (in my case Arizona):

I've placed two orders. Note that Amazon Canada estimates up to three weeks for delivery.

Order shipped September 27th, received October 10th!
(Time 13 days)

Order shipped September 30th, received October 8th
(Time 8 days)

I don't quite understand your question but going by your previous post "do they ship direct to your door?", the
answer is yes (at least to the US).

If you're not in the United States, I don't know if your
country handles it differently.

If you're asking, from where does Amazon.ca ship? They ship from Ontario.

I have won dvd's from California and it takes usually 5 working days to get here (to Alberta). Priority shipping from amazon.ca for me is excellent. Got a few parcels within 24 to 48 hours (from Ontario to Alberta). A parcel I had shipped yesterday will cost me 14.00 shipping (box set and a dvd).
Amazon.com for the same shipping will cost me 20.00 US or more.
If it took 6 to 8 weeks, maybe you got third class shipping or it wasn't available within 24 hour at amazon.

I had an order from DVDSoon that only took three days to arrive when if finally shipped. Orders from Amazon.ca have taken over a week.

Received my first order from Amazon Canada:

Shipped: 10/2

Arrived: 10/17

For me, it took ELEVEN BUSINESS DAYS.

(October 14th was a holiday so there was no mail delivery. And also I'm assuming that it wasn't sitting in the mailperson's truck for a couple of days.)

(I'm in the Los Angeles area.)
