What happened to Anisaki.com?

So, about two weeks ago, I place an order with Anisaki for two titles. Both are backordered, so I plan to wait. Get the order confirmation, and all that. Within 48 hours after I placed my order, the site goes down. Just... nothing.

Since I've been told that Anisaki is owned by HKFlix (sort of the 'animation only' branch website), and HKFlix seems to be running fine, I'm not particularly worried by this. I figure, it'll work itself out in the end.

It's been about a week, and now HKFlix is now showing one of the two titles as in stock. Anisaki is still down. Since I have no idea what happened to Anisaki, I'm completely confused about what to do next.

Anybody know what happened? Have any advice?

Reply from HKFLIX.COM/ANISAKI.COM

This is rather embarassing to admit, but our Anisaki.com/net/org domain names expired. Apparently the contact info that our renewal reminders were going to was old. Upon learning about this problem we immediately renewed the domains. However, Joker.com is being extremely slow with the renewal process. Hopefully we'll get the site back up soon. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Hello Jeff, any chance of HKflix carrying R2 Japan DVDs? It's tough to find them here in Eugene...

For example, "Versus"?

Crazy Aoshi: We usually just point people to cdjapan.co.jp. The wholesale price on Japanese DVDs is just way too expensive.

Sorry about that

BTW, anyone who urgently needs their AniSaki f(l)ix should be able to access the basic functions of the site at this URL:

Thansk for the link. I was worried there for a few days. I'm gonna ask the same question I've been asking again and again, when will Anisaki be agle to sell titles from ADV, Pioneer, Bandai, and Tokyo Pop?

And a new one: how about pre-order page for certain titles like Laputa R3?

We're working on it! These suppliers require large minimum and monthly orders in order to work direct. So hopefully after we move to a new bigger warehouse (hopefully by the end of the year) we'll have space to jump in and really give those products the space they'll need. We don't want to start stocking and taking orders for those titles unless we're first equipped to offer the standard of service you'd expect from us.

Pre-orders are a double-edged sword for AniSaki.com... Because we offer the lowest prices every day, we can't offer any further discount for pre-orders. And because of our flat rate shipping (for US customers), we end up footing the bill for all pre-orders that ship separately from the rest of a larger order. So taking pre-orders is not a high priority for us since we'd probably end up losing money overall on most of them. But we usually do get new titles up on the site the day they arrive at our warehouse... We'll be working on expanding our pre-order system in the future, but for now we want to focus on the best prices period.

Quick update... The AniSaki.com domain name is back up and functioning now. Sorry for any inconvenience.
