DVDOvernight raises prices
I just started renting from them -- literally I've rented once with plans to rent often -- and they go and up their prices from $4 to $4.99. Not a huge increase, I know, but still, a buck is a buck, or two bucks if you rent two, and on and on...
I still think it's probably worth it since you get to keep the movies for more than a week. My gripe, though, is that everything's always gone. Every time I check, the two or three movies that I really want are checked out. This is a problem because I can't wait around for dvds to be returned since I have to allow 3-4 days of shipping time in order for the dvd to be there when I'm ready to watch it.
I don't have this problem at my local video store, which seems to stock enough copies that almost anything is available at any time, and I can even reserve copies for a particular day. Another bonus is that it costs $3.25. On the other hand, I only get one day (two days on Saturday) with the dvd and I have to go out of my way to return them, since I live 15 minutes away.
So I can't decide what to do now. I had decided that I would go the online way, and only use the local store for when I suddenly decide to rent a dvd, but then the outlet I chose goes and freaking raises their prices, making me reevaluate my decision all over again.
I don't really have a question here. I'm just sort of thinking out loud, but feel free to share your thought anyway.

I just found out they also no longer offer every 8th movie as a free rental!
I can understand raising prices a bit, but taking that away also really sucks...
