This company really blew it with me. After Amazon Nextcard went under, I was looking for a new place to spend my $100 or so a month at. I picked the wrong time to try them. Screwed up web site, screwed up orders, coupon codes that don't work. They really should have just shut the web site down until all the bugs had been worked out. Keeping it running with all the mistakes and problems really hurt them I think. They are real nice on the customer service end, but who wants a million problems with a simple order. I was told that the web site was running great now by a representative. I got on with scripting errors, slowness, and order status that was not updated, as well as the pre-orders being well behind. I just found out Amazon is getting a new credit card company at the end of September. With the coupons, share the love, and the credit card perks, the prices are more resonable, so it looks like I will bring my business back to Amazon. In 2 years I have had 1 small problem which they fixed immediately. I would rather pay more with no worries than save a buck or two and stress out over the endless problems.

Emails are once again reaching their system and getting tracking numbers as they have before.

Has anyone tried placing an order recently or checked their online status to see if it has now updated correctly?

I ordered the Spongbob Squarepants and Superman DVD's on 8/7 - they shipped the next day. Your mileage may vary.

Stingo: Did you get an email confirming your order, as well as one confirming shipment, or did it just show up "blind"?

It looks like DDD may be back to normal now.

I just placed an order with no problems and got the customary notification by email that my order would be assigned an order number within 24 hours. The email was sent to me immediately, just like before the site upgrades.

This is looking good.

As far as I a concerned they are the best place online to order from even though recently they have has some problems. What site hasn't????? I do 90% of my business with them, and usually my DVD's show up early(which is great). I also order about 6-7 DVD's a month and and generally happy with price and shipping time. Beats having to go out and pick stuff of on Super Tuesday's because I usually have it by the Saturday before!

I received all emails consistent with a typical order:

1. Notification of Receipt
2. Order Acknowledgement
3. Shipping Notice

All within the space of about 24 hours...

Edited to add: The only thing unusual yet is that the order indicates a 0.00 amount charged, but the order was charged on shipping. Other than that - smooth sailing.

I placed an order 24 hours ago. Site was very slow, lots of "site not responding" errors. The order went through. No emails to confirm so far. It took about 16 hours for the order to show up on the web site. Still pretty poor, but at least everything went through for me. Hopefully I won't be double billed, or shipped 4 or 1 item again.

I ordered 2 titles back in January or February of this year. When I got a confirmation Email it had 3 titles listed and one of the titles was something I would never even think about buying. I called at the time and they said they took care of it as I only received the 2 titles I ordered. Now the order is back on the OPEN section. I hope they do not send me this title I never ordered.

UPDATE, I just checked and now I have 5 orders from the past that are now listed as OPEN.

I placed an order for 3 "budget" DVD's for a total of around $16. I got an email notfication that they had shipped --- 1 to my address and one to some other guy that I did not know. When I emailed DDD, they said that I must have changed my address in the past, etc. I then again emailed them explaining I did not even know the name of the guy for whom the other DVD's were sent to. Also, I was not aware that it was possible to split the shipment of a single order to multiple addresses. It a has been 2 weeks and still I have not heard back from them. I actually waited, hoping the email was wrong and that I would actually get the DVD's I ordered. What ticks me off is that the tone of the 1st (and only) email suggested I did this on purpose. They said if I had any questions, that I should contact them. WTF -- I did and they did not even attempt to look into it and get back to me. All they gave me was some line of BS and put it back on my shoulders. And even when I sent the 2nd email, I have not heard back from them ... I've probably spent around $2000 with them and consider them one of the best e-tailers around. I'm not one to jump ship because of a few problems, but I do DEMAND some kind of satisfaction. If this is the begininning of the new DDD, then count me out!!

I'm still getting error messages, and I can't call up my Order Status page. No email confirmations though. I don't even get the newsletter. My email address is correct in my Account Status page, but for some reason I think it is wrong in their system. When I called a few weeks ago, they still had my old email(1 year ago) in their computer system. I asked them to change it, but I doubt they did.

I'm becoming really streesed about an order that I have with them, i'm an international customer and got an email from them on 23rd of July saying that half my order had been shipped (they say its about 8-15 business days for shipping for international) It is now the 19th and am still yet to recieve the movies, $350 worth mind you which converts to $700 in my money so as you can imagine I am pretty edgey, havnt had any problems with them in the past, not really sure what to do from here.
Any advice anyone? do they have insurance on there post?
they dont seem to want to respond to my persisntant email to regularly either.

It is now the 19th and am still yet to recieve the movies
Don't panic yet. It can often take a full month to get DDD deliveries to Australia. Some of mine have come via Germany, for reasons I can't bear to investigate.

I'm in the same boat as you dvdaus. I ordered on July 19 and have yet to see my order. I emailed them last week and they told me to contact them again today if it hasnt turned up. It hasn't, so now I'll wait and see what happens. Hope I don't have to wait another 4 weeks!

I tried placing an order last night and kept running into all sorts of server errors. After about 45 minutes, I was finally able to complete my order, although it should have only taken no more than 10 minutes.

Likewise, I have completed/canceled order reappearing as open orders on their website. I really hope they don't end up shipping. And another thing, I haven't received any shipping notices from them in a while. The boxes just show up in my mailbox. What's their deal? Are they falling apart at the seams? That sould be a shame because DDD is the only place I buy my DVDs now, even if the new releases do end up cost an extra couple bucks than Best Buy.

I was running into those same server errors. I finally just gave up, and tried again this morning. I managed to get all the way through adding the items to my cart, and when to check out...and nothing.

They seemed to have fixed my order status page. I emailed them on the weekend and received an email today and when I looked it seemed okay but I did not check the details, I guess I better do that. Still no shipping of the Sleepaway Camp box yet though.

I just placed an order with DDD on sunday (the first since they have been having these website/computer problems). I know that their website/order status etc. is hosed, but in spite of that are they still managing to get orders shipped out, or has that come to a standstill also? Like others, my order has been moved to completed even though It shows no indication of having been shipped yet. I'm just wondering if the massive problems they seem to be having extends to their shipping department, or if that is running pretty much as usual. I don't know if I should leave the order as is or just try to cancel and order elsewhere.

I like the online order updates, but as long as they get my order to me I can live without it until they get it fixed.

I placed an order last week and received all the shipping notifications through email and my order status page was correct the whole way through.

I ordered two boxed sets of DVDs and requested priority shipping to make sure they got here to me. I placed the order on Wednesday 8/14 the order shipped Thursday 8/15 and the order arrived at my house on Monday 8/16.

The box arrived in pristine condition. No signs on having been thrown around or rustled at all as some have reported. (I know that this could be the post office too in those cases.)

Hopefully things will go as well for all of you!

Still haven't received any type of shipping notification for Pulp Fiction. I had preordered it well over a month ago.
I placed another order for older catalog titles on Sunday. I did get an order confirmation, but nothing more.

What's the deal? Are they experiencing growing pains, or is this the beginning of the end?
