Rent MY DVD Envelopes changed to look like Netflix

The rentmydvd.com envelopes are now the same as the netflix envelopes. I would have thought there was a copyright on the netflix design to prevent competitors from using it.

Netflix has copyrighted their envelopes, but I believe if you change one thing it's not copying it. I'm not a lawyer, but that's what I was told.

WOW, I am suprised that they still have something to ship out. I used them until I got 50 out of 50 out of stock.

Did they change?

Rentmydvd has one extra piece of paper in their envelopes. They advise you to use that paper for notes to them or as a things to do list.

Rentmydvd doesn't every a deep collection but they have much quicker turn around for me in NYC then netflix. RMD doesn't seem to hold the disks for extra time before they send them out.

I am not sure if you know but Netflix has opened a new distribution center in Flushing, Queens a while ago. I am in Bklyn so the turnaround for me is 1-2 days, except new releases on their release day (they ship from CA).

I didn't know about Queens...thanks for the info.

Is Netflix still holding films for a while before checking them in?

In my case, no. There's a distribution center in Houston, and moveis I send back from Dallas are picking processed in two days. Sent back on Monday, new movie on the way Wednesday etc. I can send back a disc Monday and get a new one by Friday.

Yeah, rentmydvd sucks now. 65/65 OUT OF STOCK for one week straight - avoid these losers.

i've been with RMD for over a year now. they are getting pretty bad. i used to be able to cycle through each rental on a weekly basis, but now it takes several days longer before they ship my next selection. and everything i add to my wish list is in high demand. it even seems like shipping takes longer...are they holding my returns for a few days before they admit to receiving them? i probably won't be with them much longer. there used to be a RMD thread here with an employee answering our questions...is it still around?
