The HKFlix Malata 520 Deal

I've been waffling about the Malata 520 but the HKFlix deal has me almost ready to commit commerce BUT!! I don't know who is responsible for service, maintenance and other customer issues. I e-mailed HKFLix a few days ago with this question and so far no response.
Does anybody know what their policy is? Does the machine have to go back to Asia for repairs, etc. or is it through Malata of Canada.
Post-purchase considerations of this nature may help tilt the scale one way or the other.
Thanks.
Joel

joelgee: I'm sorry about the communication problem that we've had. Our customer service department has been swamped lately. Feel free to email me direct in the future. Unlike most retailers selling this unit, we DO provide you with a warranty and support. HKFLIX has a free 90 day warranty on this unit. After that, any additional servicing needs will cost $15 per incident for a period of 270 days. During this one year period, you will deal directly with us and we will work with you to diagnose any problems. We are also negotiating with Malata to expand the warranty on the units we sell, so hopefully we will be offering an even better warranty, which would apply retroactively to units we have already sold.

Cheers,
Jeff ([email protected])

When they first started advertising that deal, I did a Yahoo search on "Malata 520" to look for some reviews and I found that HKFlix's price was not that great. I don't mean to offend anyone - HKFlix is a reliable store. I have purchased DVDs from them in the past and found their service to be excellent. Also, they have titles you can't get anywhere else. HKFlix has free shipping, so that may sweeten the deal, but you might want to shop around a bit before you decide.

Hey, HKFlixdotcom...I emailed you the other day regarding my order that was supposed to be shipped over night.

I ordered it Tuesday and still have yet to get anything. I don't want to post my order information here, but if you could give me a general idea why the delay, I would appreciate it. I am going out of town next week and fear my DVD player will be sent back since I won't be around to sign for it, or some moron courier will leave it in front of my door and it will be stolen and I will be screwed in the end.
