Something Fishy Going on DVDExpress/DVD.com

hmm. i placed an order at dvd.com october 4th. i swore never to given their feedback and when they didn't honor the madmax dvd.
but they had a few dvds really cheap so i took the usual chance and figured to never be charged, shipped, or contacted in any way.
and so it was.
then i check my one junk email account tied to them and i got a shipping email, dated 11/07. i have checked my credit card and i was charged the correct amount. i haven't gotten anything from them yet so i'm starting to worry a bit. should i give them a week or two? for what it's worth the 2 dvds with shipping came to 11 bucks, so if i get burned, it won't be baddly.

With all the complaints posted on these forums, why in the world would anybody who visits these forums place an order there? I believe if you are a member of these forums and you order from dvd.com/express.com, then you deserve to get ripped off for lack of common sense. That's just my opinion.

2 dvds price at 2.99, 17.99 to 14.99 elsewhere, that's why.
the being charged and not getting anything is new to me. i expected my order to just disappear as they had in the past during other blow out deals.

I ordered "Marvin's Room" (it was listed for $3.99) from dvd.com on 10/6. I got shipping notification, also, on 11/7. I didn't receive it by 11/18, so I emailed them and also called them and left a voice mail at the number listed in a thread here. I got the standard form mail reply from them to wait another 10 business days and in the meantime they'll check on the shipment. This past Monday, 11/25, I received my order! You could have knocked me over with a feather. The shipping list inside the order said it had an "order date" of 11/18 and a "shipping date" of 11/19. I checked my credit card and I was charged correctly. So email 'em and call 'em.

mclori,
thanks for the post. it gives me hope. since i never expected this order to ship i was hoping that i would be shocked nearly to death when it arrived (hell i practically had a fit when i got the shipping email) calling is a pain in the ass but look who we are dealing with.

I stopped using DVDExpress LONG ago-- after trying to buy a DVD using a coupon deal and having them reject my credit card. I wrote to them hoping to correct the problem making sure all the info entered was correct, (it was) had them try again, had it rejected again, and finished with a snide e-mail from a DVDExpress CS representative implying that maybe I just don't have enough credit for a $10.00 DVD. So I ordered the disk somewhere else (for a bit more) using the exact same credit card and the exact same info with exactly zero problems-- so the problem was with their credit system, not my card-- they simply didn't care enough to figure it out. I've never glanced the way of DVDExpress again.
