And secondly, how much longer can Mullholland Drive be a Long Wait? LOL?
Just today I gave up when i got a wishlist update from DVDOvernight - Mulholland Drive is finally on it's way over via DVDO! (well, awaiting shipping notice, but...)

I've been a member since November and have overall had a good experience with Netflix. The new Duluth, GA center is great as they will recieve my DVDs in as little as three days. Though, like someone said above, somtimes it's a crapshoot - once in a while it's a five day wait, though that is not the norm.

Also, once in a while a DVD will come before another DVD even though it was shipped and expected to come in second. This means they are coming from different locations I guess - it always throws in the element of uncertain surprise.

Though, here's a mystery...

Once in a while I will mail-back two DVDs in the same sleeve and it will take one a day extra to show up as returned. I have no idea what this means. Guy met his quota for the day and went home? He got distracted and forgot to scan the second disc?
What do you guys think of this practice of mailing two discs in the same envelope?

Another Netflix mystery:

Once I recieved a DVD (addressed with my name and address) that I totally didn't order. It didn't show up in my account either. I watched the movie (wouldn't you?) and mailed it back, but it had me wondering...

And I've previously posted about my mail man messing up and putting Netflix envelopes that are not addressed to me in my mailbox.

On that issue, who has had a problem with a DVD never reaching you and how many DVDs do you have as reported missing?

As for me, one disc has been reported missing (cause I lost the sleeve, though I did return it with a note they never credited my account).

Anyway, it's late, I'm half awake...screen is blurrring...

G'nite.

Once again my top choices were not send

Netflix just received back 2 movies. Instead of sending me my top choice that is listed as available. Titles # 2-5 Short wait, I'll be receiving #6-7.

So much for "If your top choice isn't immediately available, we often wait to see whether another customer returns a copy of that title."

More and more titles are on my wish list are popping up w/ Short and Long wait next to them.

Okay, some numbers on availability, as of right now there are...

...Ninety-nine movies in my Queue. And of those...

...Seventeen movies on Short Wait status.

...Seven movies on Long Wait status.

...Six movies on Very Long Wait status.

And that leaves the magical number of sixty-nine discs that are on Now availability status.

There's strength in numbers - the bigger the queue, the less you'll have to worry. Least that's how it's worked for me.

I decided to just buy the movie Mullholland Drive so.... and as for it being slow... I got Not Another Teen Movie sent to me on Friday and I got it Monday... California to PA, not too bad.

Also, all of a sudden my DVDS were getting lost. Somehow, my address that they had did not include my apartment letter, had the number and they were being returned. Happened on Behind Enemy Lines (which I now own) and Slackers (ugh). Anyway, they stop my account, I update my address. They sent out Rollerball prior to NATM and I just got that today, and it had the "wrong address" on it. NATM had the correct address. I reported it lost, they sent out two more movies, now I have four. Works for me for their mistakes.

This has become 2 topics so I'll address the main one first. I've been a Netflix customer for about 2 years and the new distribution center has decreased turnaround for me astronomically. If I had doubts about continuing service with Netflix they have been completely eradicated by the Flushing distribution center. Of course, I do live in Queens, but the more distribution centers, the better the service.
As to titles remaining on long wait status, I think I've had Tim Roth's The War Zone in my number 1 slot with "very long wait" status for over a year. I'll be surprised if I ever get that one. I may investigate the specific stats.
But ultimately, Netflix is light years than I could ever expect from Blockbuster.

Glen ...

If the title is on "Very Long Wait" you can write to Customer service and tell them the title is on Long wait for over a year in #1 spot. They will buy more, just a matter of time.

Anyone else in the Los Angeles area seeing shipping time (both directions) increase from 1 day to 2 days? Now instead of a total 3 day turnaround, it takes a week to get a new shipment. Between that and all the new releases going straight to "Long Wait", I'm getting rather annoyed with their service.

I just resigned up after being annoyed by their crap a couple of years ago. The funny thing is that I got the free 2 weeks to try it out and every single new movie is available, as a matter of fact I haven't seen one movie that has a wait at all! I'm thinking they might have extra copies that they don't release to regular members, just the new ones to suck them in. A couple of my buddies signed up and they also stated that there wasn't any waits until their free trial was over. Maybe it's me, but has anyone experienced this.

ATTN: DVDE

DVDE, can you check the status of these 2 movies.

A Beautiful Mind - Very long wait

Bad Boys - Very long wait.

Someone on the board mentioned that it is a good idea to cancel your subscription and go at it again. However my buddy has signed up about 6 weeks ago and receives the same message for these 2 movies.

Keep us posted on your experience.

I signed up a few days ago after not using it for about a year. I couldn't add A Beautiful Mind at all -- it was unavailable. But I have Bad Boys listed as available now.

I didnt' realize that I didn't specify that I was referring to Bad Boys (1983) movie, the other one is listed as "Available now".

I have 34 titles in my queue, and 17 on wait. What would happen if I go through and cancel all the available titles, leaving only the 17 titles on a wait? Do you think they'll manage to find some of them and ship them? Or will I get nothing?

It states that there's a wait. The first one I've come across with any wait.
