Free shipping @ AdultDVDEmpire.com NO GOOD!

They charged me $5.10 for UPS Ground although I clicked their free media mail shipping option. I emailed the customer service but they said "there are no records of free shipping option being selected in your order, since we already shipped your order via UPS, we can not change anything now."

Did similar situation ever happen before? Could someone tell me how to get this corrected? If possible, I'd like to keep the movie I bought ( I'm old enough!!)

Many thanks in advance,

Ian

Their return policy sucks. Defective items only. I was going to return the unopened tape, since Amazon.com allows unopened DVDs, books and video tapes to be returned. But looks like I will have to keep it and end up paying dvdempire more than I should.

Hopefully nobody from this board gets ripped off by dvdempire.com anymore. Forget about their promotions, it ain't a good place for blue movies.

Hopefully you saved your e-receipt that shows you took the free shipping offer. If so, e-mail it to them and demand it to be corrected. If not, try contacting your credit card company and dispute the charges.

The e-receipt said I had chosen UPS Ground, but that was wrong. I clicked the free shipping option. I got back to CS at DVDEmpire.com within 12 hours, but they didn't believe me and kept saying no record of free shipping being opted during checkout.

I will try my luck with my credit card company to settle this, but will stay away from DVDEmpire for ever.

Thanks a lot for the input, dablueguy!

Happy shopping to all the online shoppers,

Ian

No problem, I've had a few situations where I had to call my CC company to resolve the problem. Just tell them exactly what you told me and that you want the order but shouldn't have to pay shipping when they had offered it for free. Just between you and me though, I wouldn't mention that your receipt shows UPS. I would just say "I know that I chose free shipping". It's not a lie.

Use fivestardvd.com. They have good prices and they give you free shipping when you order 4+ titles. Sometimes they have coupons as well. Great customer service too.

I use them and xrentdvd.com exclusively.

I like xrentdvd because of their rent to own program. If you rent a title, you can keep it if you want and pay for it less the rental charge OR you can return it and then if you want to buy a brand new copy, they charge you whatever the price less the rental price (you already paid) if you purchase it within 30 days of the rental.

Bum!! My CC company (Discover) would not dispute with merchants on S/H charges. They suggested that I contact local BBB (Better Business Bureau) and if no luck there, try local DA office. That was really helpful! I will certainly report DVDEmpire.com to the people at BBB, but right now DA office doesn't look appetizing.

Although chances are slim that I will get my money back, I don't feel that helpless simply because of the advice and input from you guys/gals here at this board. Thanks a bunch and good luck shopping at online stores other than DVDEmpire.com

Hello from DVD Empire

Hello,

My name is John Miko, and I am an employee of DVD Empire. I have been a long time reader of this forum, and I find it to be an important tool for both my profession and my personal use. Although in the past I have refrained from posting on forums concerning our company so as not to appear bias, I was concerned to see that anyone had been experiencing problems resolving an issue with us to their satisfaction.

This is not only of concern to me, but to our company as a whole, so I have been chosen to be the “official” voice for DVD Empire on this and other forums, in order to help resolve any issues that may arise, as well as give the dedicated DVD fans out there a conduit through which they can ask questions, give comment, or address any concerns they may have concerning our company and products. I am always glad to help, so feel free to contact me with anything. My email address is [email protected], and I am looking forward to hearing from you all.

In regards to 2Young’s post, I was sorry to hear that you have had difficulties with our service, and I would like to help you rectify this. Although we will always gladly accept unopened merchandise back for a refund, I do not wish for you to return a title you wish to keep, so I will gladly take care of this without any returns being necessary. Please send me your order number for the order on which you were incorrectly charged, and I will credit you back immediately. I will also be happy to discuss any other concerns you may have. Once again I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, and I look forward to helping you resolve this.

Sincerely,

John Miko ([email protected])

Cool. Glad this can be straightened out for both parties concerned.

Seems like its their policies that need changing

When I buy online, friendly, courteous, honest service is important to me- Someone referred me to pornvideo.com, and I have never regretted it since day one. I would never shop again from a company that treated me badly- you don't need the aggravation. So get the word out- pornvideo.com is the place to shop that treats you right.
