WARNING: BestPrices.com shipping takes 10 DAYS!

I ordered a few DVDs from BestPrices last Friday. At the same time, I ordered twice as many from DVD Planet. BestPrices charged me $6+ in shipping, and DVD Planet charged me less than $9.

Both packages shipped out on Saturday.

DVD Planet's discs arrived on Monday. On the other hand, my BestPrices discs haven't arrived yet. I called their CSR and was told that they ship via regular mail, and their discs can take TEN DAYS to arrive.

How did they ship my DVDs - by sherpa? Will some little hunched-over Himalayan guide hoof it to my house with DVDs strapped to his back?! This is absurd, and hardly worth $6+ in S&H.

Caveat emptor, fellow DVD buyers!

If you used the cheapest method then the DVDs are being shipped by media mail. I've had some packages arrive in 3 days, but I've also had one take 3 weeks to arrive.

The shipping cost gets better if you order more. Once you hit 11 items, it's 1.20 per item. And the good thing is that they ship as available.

IIRC, they use first class.

My orders have shipped by media mail because I always get a delivery confirmation number and you can't get a delivery confirmation number with first class.

Atleast they are faster than Amazon. Amazon has consistently shipped my DVDs ONE FULL WEEK after release date. Never has there been an exception. That is why I stopped ordering from them.

I ordered a title on 6/12 from them. Received an Email saying my order was ready to ship and was now "Pending" on 6/13. Its 6/15 and my order status on their web site still is listed as "Pending". Maybe they forgot to scan it when it went out or its just pending on when they get off their lazy asses and ship it. 3.50 for media mail is a little silly for this kind of service.

Amazon has really started to go down the toilet for me. They used to ship before street and send priority. The last few times, my order hasn't even gone into "Shipping Soon" until after street date, and it stays like that sometimes for a week. And the last couple of orders have shipped Standard instead of Priority.

They used to be my favorite e-tailer, but I've about had it with them.

I would stay way from ordering anything at Bestprices.com. I have now had 2 orders placed last week for in-stock Dvd's cancelled because they did not have them. The one item I ordered on 6/12 that I wrote about before said they had 8 in-stock on that day. On 6/14 it changed to 9 in-stock. On 6/15 and 6/16 it changed to 10 in-stock. On 6/17 it changed to 0 in-stock. Sent 2 emails asking why this order has been pending so long and was told it was cancelled because they did not have any. seems they are having inventory problems and I will not be placing anymore orders with them.

Update!!! just checked their web site and they now claim to have 9 of this title in-stock that they told me was cancelled today because they did not have any. The title was Bride of Frankenstein.
