i just found this forum luckily.

i subscribed in mid November and have only received one copy of the mag. Still waiting for the 40 DVDs. Please update me on the status. I would suggest also that you guys link to this thread from your site. seeing as how it seems to take months to get an answer from customer service i have to think you guys are swamped. or if you can stand the heat, set up your own forum. there are several totally free ones (i would suggest openbb. can be found at www.openbb.com) i had basically written the whole think off till i stumbled accross this forum and saw that some people were actually getting what they paid for.

None yet--I was even on vacation, thinking I could watch a few. Someone earlier had called and was told that the 40 movies shipped on the 26th(which seems strange, since I'm sure TotalMovie had said they had shipped). Where are these things being sent from, again? I suppose if it doesn't show by next week, I'll start asking questions. Who knows, the'll hopefully show up by my birthday(on the 12th.)

Would give me something to look at while I wait for the 40 pack to arrive.

Also With what issue will my subscription start?

And Is there a way to see what the disc contents were for back issue's?

Mazz - the faceless voice on the phone is Mayra...and she is usually really great. We do have back issues...though very few copies and only of the Oct/Nov & Dec/Jan. We don't however have any protocol for selling them. I am back in the office on Wednesday and I will see what I can do about getting those out to you if you want them....also will be able to confirm if you were in the latest 40 movie mailing by that time....if not I will pop a set in the mail for you on Wednesday.

Everyone L-Z (Robyn, Sara, Jay, Thomas P) - the 40 movie packs are on their way. Some of you should be seeing them by the beginning of the week. ***note that if you subscribed or got into the database after March 12th you are still in an 8 week waiting period. Those who fall into that category will have their 40 movie packs sent to them in Mid May.

this was the last I heard from Totalmovie....no back issues, no 40 pack and nothing to MAKE UP TO ME FOR THE POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND HOLDING MY MONEY FOR 10 MONTHS.

And what of the DVD players that some of us are still owed for the 115 subscription?

Could you check on my status? I subscribed sometime last year and haven't seen any movies yet. I do get the magazine though.

You obviously have many valid reasons to be frustrated, but in looking at your post, you quoted TM as saying that your 40-movie pack was being shipped on 4/25.
Since it's shipping via media mail, and I'm pretty sure they're coming from the west coast, this amount of time isn't unusual at all. It's only been 7 business days, and 12-15 wouldn't be unusual for a shipment from coast to coast. It's really hard to pin down the shipping time for media mail.
For example, the Columbia House often uses media mail for their enrollment shipments. They won't even pursue a "lost shipment" claim until 30 days after the shipment has gone, or about 22 business days. On a couple of occasions, I've had shipments from them arrive 3-4 weeks after they were shipped.
Maybe that will give you a little hope about getting them pretty soon, assuming they were shipped as promised.

Has anyone who was in the second batch (M-Z) received their 40 movies yet?

I live on the west coast, am in this group, and haven't seen anything yet, but I was just curious.

OK, so here are your updates:

All DVD player subscribers - I am told another batch will go out this week. I don't personally control these things. Please give me your names so I can make sure you are on the list of players going out. Robyn - I know your name already...so no need to reply to this one.

All - I give you the best information I can. I try to make it as accurate as possible...I also try to take care of your issues as quickly as possible. Please understand that even when I intervene, there is processing time and there is mailing time. Just know I am doing my best.

Mazz - Yes, that is true, 4/30 is the last you heard from me. That is last Tuesday. I am sorry you have not received your mags and movies yet. I did hand your name over for the movies and back issues to be sent to you on the 25th. Additionally, a note in the database from Amanda says that issues 5&6 were sent out to you last week.

Steve Russell - the 40 DVD movies are out to the Woodleaf address should be there soon.

Michael Strickler - The database shows you having been sent the last two issues. Do we have your correct address? You are not on the list of 40 movies that have been sent, I will be happy to have them sent to you from the office today. Please confirm your address for me.

Tim Braun - sending out a replacement shipment of the 40 movies to you directly from the TM office as yours appear to be lost in the mail

Thanks TotalMovie. Let me tell you that when I called the customer help line and spoke to a person live, they told me that my DVD's went out with the second Batch. ( I was suspicious due to the Total Movie track record and I posted to this thread to c.m.a.) I think if I was Mazz, I'd be counting to 10 slowly after reading this.

I think you need to let the people answering the phones know that being "fobbed off" is not good customer service. Being told the truth, even when it is ugly is better than a lie or a quick answer to save the effort of actually finding out what the truth is. I can only assume that if I hadn't responded to this thread, I still wouldn't have been sent the movies. Can you confirm on deny this ?

well i am in the T's, so if/when I get the 40 pack i will post. i have a strong feeling they will show up. i suggest everyone post to this thread, their name and town/city and then forget about it. if they come post again to reassure everyone else.

its much easier on the mind to go to the mailbox expecting bills and other hassles only to find 40 movies, rather than to go to the mailbox expecting 40 movies only to find bills and hassles.

thanks for the updates TotalMovie. this is a great deal if it works out, even with the delay.

its strange how life works but the 40pack came in the mail today! (media mail) have to go open a suntrust checking account or i would post more (suntrust has $50 bonus for opening an account right now)


anyways, TotalMovie, thanks, and to everyone else... the business model is only bad if you dont get what you paid for.... i dont even care if the rest of the mags show up (but i hope they do!)

(fyi for totalmovie, the packaging is nice but adds time and money, even if they came in a plain cardboard box with newspaper around them, nobody would care as long as they come in a timely manner. would save many people's fears too)

I received my 40 movies, about 20 DVDs, over the weekend. I have not viewed them to see the quality but I'm just glad that I got them after 6 months of waiting. It was in 1 box with each 2 dvds per little cardboard slip cases.

ok, i only watched two (crime) and they are ancient but that dont mean a thang...

I passed out today when I got the mail. My 40 movies came today. Hopefully the magazine will show up soon. Thanks for caring totalmovie. You've become the token whipping boy for all use movie junkies to complain to. Thanks again.

I got my 40 pack in the mail yesterday 5/8/2002. YAHOO

Please accept my greatest thanks for helping me get what I ordered...even though it took 10 months...but all is well now.

I think that for anyone who has waited as long a some of us have there should be some kind of GOOD FAITH amends made by the company.

be it an extention of subscription time ,free back issues, tee-shirts, baseball hats, 30 day supply of valium or just something to say that TotalMovie magazine is SORRY for the gross delay!
