Seeking opinions on A&M?

I was wondering if anyone has ordered from this company before. I want to buy a DV camcorder from them and its the lowest price I've ever seen ($300 off B&M) but I'm looking for any opinions on this place before I actually purchase it. I read on another forum that the cheap stuff at A&M is grey market stuff, what exactly is this and should I be worried about it? Thanks!

Here's the link A&M

oookay I guess no one has shopped here before.

Can someone at least tell me what a gray market item is? I'm not too experienced with online retailers. I mean the product looks original and has the exact same specifications, but its more than $400 off the B&M price. People at AT say A&M sells gray market products. Unfortunately they don't have a store forum like here to discuss these things for people like me who don't know this things. Is it illegal?

This is what I was looking to buy: Sony DV Cam

I don't really know what this has to do with DVDs... but I'll oblige.

'Gray Market' means it comes without the manufacture's warranty. Typically it's acquired from overseas- and if you get an operating manual it's likely to be in another language, same with menus and onscreen displays (sometimes). Also, it was not built to the same spec as items manufactured for the US- meaning it does not have to conform to FCC standards.
I've bought gray market camera gear in the past and probably will avoid doing so in the future.

As far as A&M, you want to check out this page http://www.photo.net/neighbor/one-subcategory?id=2
A&M only has a few entries... I've found this page to be fairly truthful.

Hope this helps!

ahh so thats why no one was responding lol, I thought it was because no one liked me . Didn't know this forum was about stores that deal with DVDs as I'm new to it.

Thanks a lot for the response and the link zeek! After seeing the entries I don't think I'm going to shop at A&M. I want to avoid future problems especially on something that costs so much. Thank goodness for forums like this one so people can get a heads up about these kinds of shady business practices. Thanks again, I appreciate it!

According to the main forum page, here is what this forum is about:

Share Your Shopping Experiences at Stores both Online and Off.
While it's natural that a large number of people who come to this site will want to discuss DVD retailers, discussing other kinds of stores is a perfectly acceptable use of this forum.
