rentmydvd.com users, how are you doing?

Well, I noticed that the rentmydvd.com threads had vanished recently from this forum(Do they disappear after a couple weeks of inactivity?)

Anyway, I'm most interested in how others are finding their service of late. I must say that I have noticed an improvement in terms of their stock (I have received a number of new releases within a week of their release) although some of the other relatively new titles(last few years) are still not readily available. In general, they do seem to be getting better.

Anyway, just checking in to see if the reason for the lessened activity here is due to improvement in customer satisfaction or migration of customers away from rentmydvd.com

Still ridiculous for me. Took 5 days for them to send a title from my 40 title wishlist. 4 straight days all 40 titles were out of stock.

Well, I've been using them for about 6 months now and although they do have a lot of titles listed as "High Demand", there's always something that they ship.

In the past 2 weeks, I've decided to cut down on my DVD purchases and rent more, so I upgraded to ther 4 DVD plan. In the past 2 weeks, I've gotten Ghost World and Jay & Silent Bob. Previously, I've only gotten stuff that was way down on my list. So I don't know if you become a "preferred customer" once you upgrade your plan, but that seems to be the way it's working out for me.

All in all, I'm satisified way more than I was when I was using Netflix. Shipping time in a day or two can't be beat (I'm out East).

Recently, they sent me 1 rental out of a 2 rental order. Unfortunately, they charged me for both rentals. I got an email today stating that both rentals had been returned today. Customer service has yet to respond.

Turn around time was taking too long. All new releases in my queue were out. Canceled and went back to Netflix and all titles that were in my queue originally at Rentmydvd shipped immediately at Netflix!

Pretty much the same thing here. 8 out of a possible 50 were "in stock" at RMD. Signed up for Netflix yesterday, and they are 59-for-59 so far with titles in stock.

Out of curiosity, those of you that have 50/50 or 40/40 out of stock, what sort of movies are in your queue? Are they top selling/rented mainstream titles or foreign/indie films they may not have as many of?

Sad But True

Yes, it seems Rentmydvd has become too big too fast....

I have the same problems.... 40 movies in Q, 8 available at high demand.... Shipping takes at least one day longer than it used to take.... 4 days instead of 3.... Saying they received a return is the same.....

Sad! I guess when everyone heads back to Netflix and they lose money they will get a clue. Order more titles!

Get some good customer service, or face the fact you may lose customers that love to tell their friends....

I have 11 new releases in my queue. About 22 award winning movies, 11 Hithcock movies, misc others and Only 1 coming soon title. You can only put up to 50 movies in your queue.

No foreign indies here. The 11 new release titles are so so. No big name movie in my list for I usually buy them.

Knock on wood, but I actually had a decent week this week in getting things. I guess its sad when you look and see 5 out of 40 titles available and thing thats good, but its better than a couple weeks ago.

I probably have about 50% mainstream, 25% indie, and 25% foreign. I'd say thats close to what I end up getting shipped also, probably more indie and less foreign though... maybe 50/40/10 actually. I usually have the indie/foreign higher on my want list than the mainstream, so if those are available I get those first.

With all the out of stock problems I've had over the past months, the one thing that suprised me is I got all 4 discs in the Twin Peaks season 1 set right in a row. I was expecting to take several months before I actually received them all due to the next one being out of stock. As soon as I added the next disc to my list it shipped out with the next return.

Been waiting for 3 days and 50/50 titles continue to be out of stock. I e-mailed CS and they finally responded that I should add more titles - which you cannot do.

These guys are approaching Netflix type problems...it may be time to switch back.

NETFLIX is the way to go.

I am not sure why so many of you still hanging around and waiting for the miracle. RMD is in deep financial trouble - no need to see their books, just look at your wish list.

On the other hand Netflix has 70 out of 70 title AVAILABLE on my wish list. Similar results can be seen from other users.

WHAT R U WAITING FOR?
