TAU sucks monkeyballs! I'm still waiting for a refund from a November order that never arrived! I'll never order from them again.

My first order was for X-files season 4. Waited a month after release and it hadn't shipped. Made one call, talked to a rep and he mailed me a copy express. Arrived at my door in 4 days. However, I ordered OZ....it said it shipped a little over two weeks ago and I still don't have it. Will I order from them again...probably not. I'll go with a more reputable dealer and pay little more.

Thanks, Krug.

I will be reporting my case to the Canadian Better Business Bureau. TAU should be made to close down their business, and hauled to court for fraud and cheating.

I wouldn't touch TAU with a bargepole. I ordered Cats and Dogs in the 'Free Shipping' weekend last year along with other discs that did turn up. When C&D didn't turn up, I e-mailed them and they replied saying that they had sent a replacment the previsous week. How did they know it was missing?
When that failed to turn up I e-mailed them again and got no response. I also ordered a copy of Disney's Silly Symphonies in January which also failed to turn up. Again, no reponse to e-mails.
I reported both of these to my credit card company and they have refunded me and issed charge-backs to TAU (hopefully with a hefty administration fee).

If enough people request charge-backs, then TAU could lose their credit card facilities!

Not trying to defend them by any means, but that is possible if they jacked up the mailing lable or for some reason the package got returned to them and they shipped out the replacement before you realized it.

I received the following e-mail from TAU tonight for what it's worth. First time they ever answered anything by e-mail. They also told me on the phone last week that they mailed my replacement discs already and now their customer service says they don't have any in stock. Same story they have been giving me for months. I thought TAU lied when they said the discs were mailed.

Dear Sir,

We are sorry for the problems we are having with email, we have been doing some upgrading, and making some changes, which has caused many problems with the email and phone lines.

As for your returned Order#: xxxxx (World At War Series), we are sorry for the delay in the replacement of this order, but there seems to be a problem getting them in, your are not the only one waiting for this set. We will contact the studio again on Monday (April.15/02) to find out what can be done, and will of course let you know as soon as possible. If for some reason we can not get any more of this title in, we can of course ship the DVD's back to you, but I don't really think that this will be nessesary.

Thank you for your patience in this matter, and we will be contacting you Monday (April.15/02) to let you know the situation. Have a nice weekend.

Finally TAU answered my email:

Mr.

We are sorry for the problems we are having with email, we have been doing some upgrading, and making some changes, which has caused many problems with the email and phone lines.

Your returned shipment of Order#: xxxxx (X-Files: Complete First Season) has been received and your replacement is being shipped out today. It is unfortunate that this could not have been done sooner but when we received the order we did not have the invoice to match with an order. Must have been lost in transit, but it made it difficult to match up with an order#. We appologize for the wait and we will send it out express to get it back to you as soon as possible.
I guess by Tuesday I should have my replacement

I've ordered X-files season 2-4 from them and Sopranos season 2 with no problems. I figured I'd give them another shot with x-files season 5.

Pardon my ignorance, but since when has "upgrading of web site" has anything to do with totally ignoring ALL customers' emails ?

TAU has yet to provide a satisfactory reply to this non-reply of emails, and keeps claiming in their reply emails that their problems were due to "upgrading", but they have been "upgrading" since Nov last year !

A weak story if I ever heard one. Would you trust such a Company with your Credit Card ?

Used them for a couple years now, had very few problems and all were cleared up. I think their main issue was they didn't grow fast enough to accomodate growth of customers. I still order from them.

I have to say that TAU does seem to be improving with their service. They have been consistently answering my e-mails and finally shipped my replacement DVDs yesterday by express mail. But I think they could have done a better job of informing customers about the problems. And I am not happy about waiting over three months for replacement discs.

Update:
Received my DVDs on Monday from TAU. I am now done with them. Goodluck to anyone else having problems with them.

What address are you sending the e-mails too? I have been receiving and replying to messages sent from [email protected] with good success. I usually receive an answer within 24 to 48 hours.

Also if you have an order number try using that in the subject heading of your message. I noticed when they finally answered my e-mail they put the order number there, and all my replies were answered when I did the same. Hope that might help you. Or you can try calling but I never get an answer until early afternoon Pacific time.

Is it just my experience or is the customer service at the Canadian etailers poorer than the USA's?. Have had bad experiences with Northamericandvd and dvdsoon.
