More Blockbuster widescreen ranting

I stumbed into a Blockbuster the other day to check out their PVDs, which is the only reason I ever go there. So of course, they have PVDs of The Grinch, Jurassic Park 3, and American Pie 2 for sale, all in full screen, which they proclaim is the preferred format. Out of curiousity, I went over to look at the new discs for sale. Guess what? They only had the widescreen versions for sale! Now where's the logic in only renting full screen, but selling only widescreen? Do they figure people will just rent anything, but deep down they know that people will only buy widescreen?

..something like that..but, actually, it makes sense. If you're frustrated by the lack of a rentable or pre-viewed "Widescreen" copy of a particular film, -well, then, you can always buy it. And, frankly, with some titles, that may be your only option since most renters in my area don't carry "widescreen" when there's a full-frame available. The online renters would be wise to keep that in mind, provide an alternative, and promote it...
