Bestprices.com-any opinions??

Has anyone ever used Best Prices.com?? They come up consistently in searches on dvdpricesearch. One thing I noticed is that they actually put how many of a dvd are on order if they are out of stock

I've used them about 3 times in the past year - and never had a problem. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

I buy most of my anime there - and that's quite a bit, you know - and have only had one problem wth them. A quick phone call later, and everything was straightened out. They even went the extra mile to try and hook me up with a Cowboy Bebop box set, hanging on to one for me until I confirmed (or denyed) that I needed a copy.

Extra kudos for them.

While I've never had any major problems with them...

and I always get my DVDs in the end, I've only had nitpicks with them. They are slow when they ship things out. I preordered something last month that had 0 on order. The same night I preordered it went to 7 on order, so I guess I was the first person to preorder it. After it was released, they went out of stock when my order was pending, and when eventually got the same item in a few more times, my order status was still at backorder. And it usually takes one or two extra days for them to ship something out, and on my last order they scared me into thinking that I was going to get a duplicate order.

As of late, they've also been overcharging people. You might want to look at the www.animeondvd.com retail forum and search the bestprices threads, where a lot of people are having problems. I usually only order from them if the main places I'd order from are out of stock, or if they have a rare VHS tape that I would want. With their high shipping prices, I only save a few dollars when I order from them, and by the time their 2nd day FedEx ships out(Their only good shipping option) I could have received my DVDs from other places, so most of the time it's not worth ordering from BestPrices. I'd still give them a try though if you are out of options, but be cautious about the overcharges.

Not too positive on my first order (and only order) with them

When they just came up, prices were good, Company is based in Palo Alto (I am in SF, which is 30 odd miles away).
Placed an order and it turns out shipping was a bit high so I chose regular mail (thinking it would take a day or to to get the DVDs) and pay Sales Tax.
It turned out that their warehouse was in Tennessy sonewhere and took about ten days to get my DVDs.
Forget it after that.

BestPrices sucks again.

I know my bad of ordering from them again (Anim DVDs which my fav does not have).
Order 8 DVDs, received all with one wrong tittle (already have).
It was a bit delayed in getting status of order, sent an email inquiring of status, never heard back.
Call CS# to get AR, got a voice mail box which is full, got to another and left a message. 24 hours later, haven't heard back.

Bestprices.com (Listening)

Just wanted to clarify how bestprices.com works. We ship out of 5 different warehouses for DVD's and Games, they are located in:
Dallas, Tx
Chicago, IL
Portland, OR
Memphis, TN
Baltimore, MD

Most anime product is located in either Memphis and Oregon. As for mis-shipments, they are rare, although we did have some new employee's in January who were not trained properly and caused some headache's. As for the accuracy of the inventory, it is update 4 times daily and is on every product detail screen. We are approaching are 6 year anniversary and hope to see all of you soon.

Thanks,

Dan Bailey

Update on Besprices.com

Really, Dan. Here's the update.

1. Received the update of the e-mail inquiring about the status of the order 4 business days later. Said "shipped within 24 hours", well your web site is updated later than 72 hours later.
2. Received no response on the voice mail left to customer service general line (since the return voice mail was full) never got a return call.
3. Called in, and reached someone. Explained the situation, received the RA# and was told that the replacement will be on the way and requested to send the incorrect item back. The incorrect item was sent back (costing me more money).
4. Just the received the replacement item. Guess what. It is again the wrong item (second copy of the same item placed on the oder). Come on, it is not rocket science here. Called in to Customer Service (3pm PT, your time zone, and get a voice mail).
Expressed that the item will be returned and seeked response.
I'll let you know of any positive (god forbid, I am pressing my luck here with your kind of customer service) feedback or response from your so call Customer Service.

I ordered all my Farscape DVD's from them, but the last one i had to cancel my order since even though i preordered it months in advance they ran out of stock before they shipped mine.
