Widescreen Wonka finally at Best Buy!!!!

I've been going to my local Best Buy for the past few weeks always looking
to see if they have the Willy Wonka Widescreen DVD. Up until now it has not
been in stock and all the workers acted as if I was crazy when I asked them
about it.

Well, yesterday (12/18) it was finally there!!!! But, now I am torn. I want
to buy it right away to help show Warner that it was wise to release it in
widescreen and that should be their policy, but I don't really feel like giving
Best Buy the money because fo how they have dropped the ball. They are
the only store in my area which is currently carrying it.

What do I do? Anyone have any thoughts?

Let's see, you've been going there for the past few weeks to see if they have it, and now they have it, and no one else near you has it. Buy it!! JMHO

(BTW, I bought mine on eBay about a month ago)

I guess I didn't get my point across in my post. Yes, I will buy it if I want it and it
will probably be through Columbia House.

My point was:

What do you all think about the fact that it took Best Buy 4 weeks to get it in stock.
What is up with that? Are they out of it or is it the local management that is not
educated enough to know they should have stocked this title back when it was
available. I would have bought it from them back then.

I am just getting so sick of Best Buy and other B&Ms pushing these mediocre big
budget films like "The Grinch", Mummy Returns", etc. And then having so many
in Fullscreen.

I guess I just wanted to vent and see if others feel the same way.

Well, look at this. If you were running Best Buy (and wanted to make a profit ) would you set up up a display in the front of the store for:

Hedwig and the Angry Inch, or
The Grinch.

No matter how sub-par you think the movie is, there's always a (money) method to the maddness.

Wouldn't you also be showing Best Buy that they were just as correct to start carrying it by buying it from them?(Regardless if it took them weeks, you said they are the first in your area to carry it) Seems like the same message. If the numbers sold by Best Buy are greater for the full screen (unless we step up and purchase the Wide Screen there, of course also depending on price) what do you think they will carry more of ... . If they see slow sales of wide screen on this, it will cause them not to pick up wide screen earlier too ...
