If that's what they do for everyone, that's pretty bogus (esp. considering shipping was already free for me in NY!) They should honor the 'minor' misprices ($29.95 and maybe $39.95 titles) at least, even if they can't honor things like the Dreyer or Dirty Harry, which I can at least understand. I think everyone would be happy with that. If they don't honor anything, we should probably write planetfeedback and the BBB, because all of the retail prices, cover art, savings calculations, etc etc were correct on their site, so it will be tough for them to say 'oh, sorry, we didn't mean it.'

Of course at this rate, it will take 2 months to get your cancellation notice

One week later and still no shipping or cancellation confirmation. I really wish that they would make up their minds already. If they are not willing to honor the orders then fine; just stop wasting my time so that I could use the dough to purchase some discs elsewhere.

Does anyone have an update? It has been over a week now and I'm still stuck in limboland. I guess J&R's resolution is to ignore all orders and pretend like it never happened.

But the funny thing is, they've made some cancellations. I don't get what's the hold-up on the others. One of my two orders was cancelled. So why the long wait on the other? I'm guessing they're cancelling all the orders, but there's still a chance they'd honor some of the smaller misprices. Still, what gives?

As we all grow more impatient about what J & R will do with our orders, will everyone please go back to the Criterion deals thread and delete their posts concerning this? It has always been the intent to keep that topic to one page and we inflated it to three. I am sure everyone (including Pasolini) would appreciate it.

i got my second cancelation today. This order had no "big" misprices in it. All were criterions with msrp <39.99 and selling for 11.99-12.99. I am very disappointed with J+R. I was very excited about possibly getting some good movies at a good price. I dont understand haow so many dvds could be mispriced. I am also annoyed that this "mistake" was done around the holiday season when so many of us were buying gifts. Then theyjerked us around for so long and all they offer in return is free shipping.

I am not very impressed with J+R and will never do business with them.

The mods have already deleted these for us.

I finally got sick & tired of waiting -- not to mention the $116 temporary authorization hold J&R placed on my credit card -- so I called their Customer Service number today. The guy I talked to was very nice, but also seemed somewhat in the dark about what was going on. He knew that all orders placed at that time had been put "on hold" due to "a computer error that mispriced some items", but he thought we all had been contacted by email already. I told him that I hadn't, and that I would like to cancel the order. He tried to get me to keep the order active, and said he would look up the correct prices himself. I simply said "Thanks but No Thanks".

Out of 5 orders, I've only received one cancellation notice. I called & asked them to look up one of my order numbers. I asked 'is it still active, cancelled, on hold, shipped, or what?'.

He said "it looks like you'll get it early next week' was his reply.

I didn't really elaborate or ask any other questions, so don't put too much stock in this, but he did not indicate the order was on hold or anything. I didn't ask him if the prices were different.

So, don't put too much stock in this since I didn't ask alot of questions, but at least to the csr the order looked normal.

What's weird is, the only order I had cancelled was for really strange dvds that I doubt anyone else found or ordered (i.e. a bunch of Image music dvds --

63336798102.DV KING CRIMSON
01438155182.DV JACKSON,JANET
01438191822.DV MODERN TIMES (1936)
01438189632.DV FLASH GORDON CONQUER
01438157262.DV MANHATTAN TRANSFER
07822157509.DV SANTANA
01438197232.DV PRINCE

Its funny they cancelled this, and not my criterion orders!! Did anyone else order these goofy dvds? They were only $5 each!

p.s. and no, the Manhattan transfer dvd was not for me!!!!

Your probably on your own ordering those queer DVDs Just kidding, sounds interesting. I guess I wouldn't put too much faith in what a CSR had told me either. But it's good news if its still open. The whole process seems so weird. At first they seem to be cancelling the smaller orders, but now it's over 10 days later and only a few sparse cancellations with no apparent connection. Don't know what to make of it

I called to cancel my order and they told me that all orders placed while their site had "misprices" were on hold and not shipping. The CSR asked me to reconsider cancelling by offering me the titles for $28.99 each. I said no thanks and tried to order these titles from DVDPlant just to find that they are all out of stock (four criterions) oh well.

Did you get your order yet? Over two weeks and I have received no cancelation, no e-mail, no nothin'. I think that I'll give it to the end of this week and call to officially cancel the order. Their apologetic free shipping offer on your next order doesn't mean anything to me because I live in the tri-state area and would receive free shipping anyhow.

My debit card still shows their hold which is strange 'cause these pending charges usually expire in a couple of days if a charge does not follow.

Good advice.

Where is there any "class" to be found in that situation? Let me know if you find any.

called today to finally rid myself of all these temporary charges on my credit cards, they BEG me to keep the orders on -- the guy says he called the 'department' that is handling these dvd prices and they are 'real backed up'. I said its been a friggin month, lets end it now. He's like, 'youve waited a month, what's one more day? I will call you back tomorrow with an answer'. I said, " i know what the answer is going to be, they want me to buy the discs at full price'. He says 'how do you know that?". I said i got an email saying that on one of my orders. He says 'please, just wait until tomorrow and I will call you back with an answer".

So i had them cancel one of the orders (so i dont go overlimit on my card) and will wait for a phone call tomorrow that I am sure will never come.

I e-mailed them a couple of days ago and finally received a reply from them today. They said that the prices were an error and that they canceled all orders. They apologized for never contacting me and as a gesture of goodwill, they'll give me free shipping and $10 off of my next order. So I'll end up getting one DVD cheap. Everyone who made an order should contact them and you'll probably get the same deal.
