DDD Question

I have never ordered from Deep Discount before. How are they? Do the items usually arrive in good condition, etc...? Their pricing seems very good.

It's hard to believe that a "senior member" wouldn't know about DDD from the many posts in this here forum, but my answer would be - they are an excellent source of many dvds you might want. Prices are variable but often much better than any other online store. I just got my Monty Python Live 2-dvd set from them today, $19.18. And shipping is always free. Go for it.

I've never had a problem with DDD in around 30 or so orders, so I'm very happy with there service.

Generally everything is shipped well and it's been my experience that when possible they try to ship things early, so they arrive around the street date - but with Media Mail sometimes you play a waiting game of a few days.

Their prices are low on a lot of items (especially A&E titles), but still shop around, they don't always come in lower for all items. And their catalog is not as expansive as say CDNow, Amazon or DVD Empire.

Point well taken

I have never really paid much attention to the DDD posts as I have placed most of my orders with Amazon. I agree with you - I really should have known a bit about them by know.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I'm placing a large order at the moment. I have one widow open with DVD Talk, one with DDD and one with Amazon. I'm using the Amazon window to check my Amazon Wish List for titles I want to find at DDD

DDD has been top notch for the orders I have placed with them. Good service (called customer service with a question one time that was answered promptly & accurately). They have also billed correctly, and shipped correctly. I'd highly recommend them, especially if someone is not a coupon or GC hound, they seem to have pretty much the best straight up pricing without having to jump through hoops. I still check www.dvdpricesearch on everything, but DDD seems to have consistently the best total price.

I've never had a problem with DDD in the 12 or so orders I've placed with them. I just received an order yesterday that was placed last Tues. I once had a delay on a pre-order, but I understand they have improved their performance in this area.

I've been nothing less than thrilled with DDD. They've done a great job. In my experiance, they ship preorders one week before release, so I get them on Tuesday or Wednesday of the release week, which is fine with me.
I have found that the "big" releases are usually cheaper at Best Buy on release week, but non-new titles or low profile releases are best at DDD.
I love their "what you see is what you pay" pricing. No sales tax, no shipping charges.
I've read complaints about their packaging, bit I've never had any problems.

I heartily endorse this site as well. Nothing but positive experiences to date.

I've heard that if you e-mail CS asking why doesn't DDD carry (insert title here) they might actually start carrying more stock.

Of course, I haven't tried this myself, though.

I ordered Dracula 2000 about 4 days ago and it is backordered. Anyone have any feedback on how they handle this as I need this for a gift for Xmas. Should I cancel and order somewhere else?

I suggest calling and finding out when they expect to get it.

I, too, am a happy camper with Deep Discount.

I received my MOULIN ROUGE today (Saturday), although it was shipped on Wed. DDD went the extra mile and paid for first class USPS shipping instead of their usual slower Media Mail to make sure we received our orders before the holiday.

Thanks, DDD!

I think my next DVD order will be with DDD . Ive never ordered from them . I stick to Amazon for most orders (for coupons and free GC's etc.) since Amazon has it's prices so high and the coupons so low ............ Ive been checking DDD out and reading feedback from you guys . I believe they might be who I start shopping with . I also liked every DVD I have ever ordered from 800.com .

DDD's less-than-expansive inventory is their only weakness IMHO. That and the lack of a good online order tracking system (which they have recently added...bravo!! ) stopped them just short of being supreme among etailers. Still, the prices (when an item is available) CANNOT be beat, no doubt.

For best results, use www.dvdpricesearch.com to see if DDD has a particular title available. 9 times out of 10, their price will be the lowest (excluding the Canadian outfits)...

I want to thank everyone for his or her recommendations. Since I began this thread I've ordered 12 DVDs from them. So far I've received three of these with no problem. There CS is very friendly and the prices are great. As has been mentioned, it's too bad they don't offer more titles.
