Are Wal-Marts and Target checking ID's for R rated DVD's ? if so why?
Does anyone if Wal-Marts nationwide and Targets nationwide are now checking ID's when people buy any R rated movie on DVD at these stores? If so what these stores reasoning behind it? I do'nt feel like I need to be "carded" just to buy a R rated movie on DVD. Are other stores doing this?
My local Wal-Mart "carded" me yesterday when buying "hudson hawk" starring Bruce Willis. If it was spririts or smokes fine but DVD's? I'm almost 30 so go figure!
If so what stores are they?
Also does "Sam's Club" do this too? Best Buy? Circuit City?
Anybody care to shed some light on this?

They carded me the other day when I picked up "Terminator 2" (I'm 25, BTW) , finally had found one of the old tin sets with 2-discs and couldn't pass it up.
That was the first time I've ever been carded for anything like this, and I used to go to R rated movies all the time when I was in my teens. Never once got carded there, oh well...just more paranoia from the "family" stores.

I know that Target has been carding people for games rated M for a while now, although I never card anyone. I won't be doing it for DVDs either, doesn't seem to make sense to me. But hey, it looks good in theory, whether it is practiced or not.

My girlfriend and I were both carded when I bought a movie at Walmart about a month or so ago.
It didn't really bother me. If it deters minors from buying R-rated movies without their parents consent then I'm all for it.
BTW I'm almost 30.

I've never been carded at BB, of course, I use my credit card, so they might just check my age when they're checking my identity.
BTW: If anyone is looking for the T2:UE 2 disk sets, I saw a ton of them at Best Buy in Woodland Hills.

Well, we at Wal-Mart are really nice, and during training we were told to card EVERYONE that looks younger than 27.
****, when I buy DVD's, they card me, and I work there.
