Ethics question
A question for you guys. I know what I'd do, but I'm interested in seeing what everyone else thinks. . . .
So, lets say that you get a package in the mail - something from DDD, lets say. That disc has popped off the spindle in transit, and the DVD has become all scratched up because of it.
To return it to DDD and get another one will take a week or two - sure it's only a DVD, not a human heart or something - but the delay is a pain in the butt.
Do you go find a B&M store that has one in stock and swap it for an undamaged one? Do you bite the bullet and send it back?
What do you do?

Return it to the place you bought it from for sure. You took responsibility for any potential downsides of ordering online when you placed your order online. That's my opinion...

Just to note.
I have had many discs pop off the spindle and get scratches, but I have never had to return one. I clean them with CD cleaner and the scuffs on the surface come right out. I have never had a disc that didn't play fine after cleaning it. If I did need to return it, I would return it to the place I purchased it. Even if I have to wait.

From: constant state of disbelief
Return it to either Best Buy of Circuit City(those are the places I use for this devilish scheme). They don't lose money on this, the manufacturer of the disk does. Since they are probably the reason for the damaged disk(machine didnt push disk all the way onto spindle) its their loss of profits.
