I have an unopen video game I'd like to return: What stores will take it?

I received a PS2 video game as a birthday gift and am looking to return it for store credit/another PS2 game. Unopened, but no receipt (family member lost it). What stores will take it? I saw an old thread on Wal-Mart, anywhere else?

Edit: They told me they purchased it at Best Buy, but I heard about a problem returning things there

Wal-mart is pretty good about these things, just tell them you got it as a gift, and wanna exchange it for somthing you want.

MTFBWY and HH!!

I'd also try it at Wal-mart.

Some require your driver license for returns without a receipt. But if this is your first such return there won't be problems.

Best Buy will take it with your DL assuming you haven't already returned three things w/o a receipt in the past. If they give you any problems raise hell and tell them you know a CSR who told you their policy (about the three returns w/o a receipt) This will work I guarantee it.

I can tell you not to bother with Toys R Us. I went there the other day to return a dreamcast game which was a duplicate gift. No receipt, no return. Not even a straight across exchange or a giftcard. I don't know how new this policy is, but a friend of mine didn't have a problem doing the same thing not more than 3 months ago. I went back the next day to talk with a different manager and got even more attitude.

Guess I avoid shopping Toys R Us from this point on.
