I wouldn’t normally advocate using this lot but I figure this is a good way of finding out if they really have improved. Let’s see them do business the Amazon way and honor this price:

MAD MAX SE $0.75

Info found at DVD PriceSearch.

PS - Please only order one copy each and then we stand a chance of them making good on this.
The fact that they have an approved link to this bargin on DVD PriceSearch indicates that this is an intentional marketing ploy. It is a great way to compile a large database of customer contacts, and then announce their pricing mistake. If the new owners do not get the business of the ground, they will certainly have an expanded list of customer information to sell. Why else would they be out the gate so early on such an absurd offer?.

So sadly I have to agree with the fellows above about Express little scam :

First is "Mad Max SE" even planned to be produced ?

Second Amazon.com results there is no pre order for such title , ( regular version is out of stock ) .

Third , please note that it is not only meant to expand the customers database but usually when ordering 1 DVD you order some more movies to go along letting Express fill in only part of the order . Such a small price for a DVD not yet produced could mean it will take very long time until it is shipped if ever .

Forth , Could be worng though so if anyone got his order filled please send me a glotting email , I want 1 2 ..

Hmmmm, this looks like the Amazon preorder fiasco's. They will contact you once the movie arrives and ask if you want to pay the regular price............anyway, good luck to all!

Thanks. Hopefully it'll go through or give us an easy way out. I don't want to get this movie charged at $15 or something and then have to deal with it...

Yes.

Mad Max takes to the road in January in hot new special Edition

September 26, 2001

MGM Home Entertainment has just unveiled plans for a Special Edition release of the action packed adventure Mad Max that launched Mel Gibson into super-stardom.
In the ravaged near future, a savage motorcycle gang rules the road. Terrorizing innocent people while tearing up the streets, they laugh at the police force. When they terrorize the friends and family of officer Max Rockatansky, they send him into a mad frenzy that leaves him with only one thing left to live for – revenge!
The DVD will feature a new anamorphic widescreen transfer and a remastered 5.1 channel Dolby Digital audio track. The really interesting tidbit about this is, that MGM decided to release the movie with its original audio track that has never been released in the US before, instead of the dubbed version that was previously available.
The DVD also contains a commentary track by special effects coordinator Chris Murray, cinematographer David Eggby and production designer Jon Dowding. Further ,the DVD will contain a featurette entitled “Mel Gibson: The Birth of a Star,” which shows Gibson’s humble beginnings until “Mad Max” made him a household name. “Mad Max: The Film Phenomenon” is a making-of documentary that will also be included on the disc. Featuring many details of the legendary and dangerous automobile and motorcycle stunts of the movie. A Trivia Game and Trailer will also be included on the release.
“Mad Max” will take to the road on January 4 in this Special Edition at a low $19.98 suggested retail price, and I am sure, fans of the movie are already counting the days.

In the past it's always been when the order shipped.

You were being sarcastic, right?

Amazon never honors their misprices. At least over the past what, more than a year, since the Insider?

You should have said like Best Buy.

I wouldn’t know as Best Buy don’t ship outside the US. In partial defence of Amazon I’ve had more misprices out of them than just The Insider, it all depends on how reasonable and persistent you are in the aftermath of a misprice.

I agree with the thoughts of some who believe that this may be a ploy to get a base of new customers, but I'm already a customer and in their database, so I have nothing to lose. I put my order in. Thanks, jonathan.e, for the deal. At the very least, there's excitement in the forum on a Saturday morning.

Gave it a shot as well.

In my order history, I still have Urbania pending (backordered). That was also a misprice at $.85.... its corrected on the site at $21.xx but we'll see.

Gave it a shot, thanks Jonathan! My order status shows up as "backordered" - is this normal for pre-orders with this merchant, or are they already oversold?

your kidding right? Maybe I'm wrong, but DVD pricesearch is just an independent site. There's no such thing as an "approved link". I mean they are at best affiliates.

I seriously doubt this is a "marketing ploy". If you want to get customers in on a sale, you don't mark down stuff 95% off and you don't do a small ticket item like Mad Mex:SE. You'd do some big title like Shrek or The Mummy Returns at say 50% off.
