I really hate to ask this, but I can't find the info in the (wonderful) DVD-Forum search.
Is this version a "new" transfer, or is it the same WS transfer as the original DVD?
thanks

I'm not sure this was ever specified.
If I remember correctly, the new DVD was supposed to have a newly remastered video, and one would expect them to use the same print for this widescreen release.
It will be anamorphic (as was the original release).
I imagine that there will be several reviews out before it ships, and the big DVD review sites usually do comparisons between transfers when previous versions exist.

Yes, it has been verified that it will be a new anamorphic transefer. I have seen the remastered pan and scan verion, and they used the same source for the widescreen version.
