Vivedence ripoff
Don't bother with Vivedence, I just wasted a half hour doing one of their evaluations with a $15 amazon gift certificate as a reward and they didn't give it to me saying they won't use my results. So I suggest don't even bothering if you're offered a survey because all they have to do is say they didn't like your answers and not give you the GC.And I did it seriously too, I didn't just give bs answers to get through it quicker.

KK, although I don't doubt your story and am sorry that you lucked out, I have always been impressed with Vividence.
My first two surveys I had real problems with being on a slow dial-up and not being able to answer all of the questions. I thought both times that I'd forfeit the coupon but was wrong.
What I always do is ensure that I leave plenty of on-topic comments as well as answering the questions. Any pluses or minuses of the browsing experience are noted and sent off as part of my survey. I don't know if that is what swings it but I have no rejected surveys thus far. (I don't get a whole load of them but every Amazon $ counts!!)
Some people have emailed Vividence when faced with your situation with positive results. Do you think it might be worth another five minutes to put together a cool, calm and collected email explaining the time and effort expended and asking that they tell you what you did wrong just so that you can ensure that you do better next time. It doesn't matter if you don't intend there to be a next time. They have plenty of potential candidates but they might throw you a bone and/or reconsider your work.
Just a thought.

My last survey ticked me off too with an experience similar to KK's. I did everything they asked, answered all questions thoroughly and honestly and really thought I did a good job of providing extra information. Then I get a response back saying my answers were not sufficient or something to that effect and therefore no GC. This was a couple months ago and never got one since.

I finished one survey yesterday and got my $10 within seconds of completing the survey. the last one i did was thrown out because I got sidetracked and didn't follow their instructions before I submitted the answer. Good quality control on their part.

I've always been paid for each survey I've done.
My problem is that I don't get enough of them, and when I do get one it is often CLOSED before I even see the e-mail or have a chance to go do the survey. It seems that if you get an invitation you'd better do the survey right away or it will be gone. That's not possible for me when I'm at work.

I did a survey a couple of weeks ago that I kind of hurried through, and then I got a denial email upon completion. But then, a week later I got an email stating that they had reviewed my responses and they were going to send the GC after all - and I got it.

My only problem is I don't get their surveys often. I haven't got any for few months now
However, I got the reward for all the surveys that I took. I did spend honest effort taking the surveys though.

I agree with above posts. Generally my only problem is how often I get the emails. I've been a member since January '00 and I've gotten only 4 surveys. But I've done them all thoroughly and I make sure I put plenty of comments. I've gotten GCs for all four.

On the first survey I received from them, I took my time filling it out and making thoughtful comments. I got all the way to the end, pressed the button for the final submission, and went nowhere. The site just stopped responding. I clicked back and forth a few times, and still nothing. I finally gave up, very irritated that nothing came of it.
I got another survey a few weeks later, and figured I'd give it another shot. Exactly the same thing happened. I sent a scathing E-mail to their customer service, and they basically replied that I was SOL and it was my fault for not waiting long enough (I figured 10 minutes of staring at a spinning globe was long enough).
I know I'm not wasting my time again.

My only problem with them has been frequency (average about 4 a year). They have always given me a gift cert for surveys. I always answer a question with at least three defined sentences, unless it calls for a one word answer or something. They have been good to me.

I have encoutnered the stop responding problem a few times. A good way to deal with that is just kill the application and then restart Vividence browser again, and go to your starting page, the status of the survey you are taking should be "In Progress" and you can just get in to where you have been and try to submit the data again. It usually works in a second try. I have noticed that it has some compatibility issues with IE6.

"Nope" I replied "Remove me from your mailing lists"
Last I have heard from them . .............. Good riddance .

At my Vividence log-in page it says that I have been offered eight and completed five, which sounds about right. I distinctly recall missing two through twice not checking my email for a day and the survey having closed by the time I got there. How annoying!!!
Several people have suggested that you shouldn't ignore any Vividence emails asking you to update your profile: I, too, have received a couple of survey call-ups within a month of such an update.
Also, it may be worthwhile considering very carefully the way in which you complete your profile. I don't have any tips to give but it would seem logical that some profiles are going to be selected more often than others. Perhaps any lurking "experts" can share their tried and tested methods....
.... of course they might just be guarding any success secrets jealously in order to keep up the number of surveys they receive

If this is the one about selling a used car or something like that, they said they may not use your survey at all. That is why I didn't bother with this one. Not going to waste 30min and go thru what you did. I don't need Amazon GC that bad.

I got a survey a couple of days ago, filled it out. I'm on a t1 at work, and the survey allowed me to pick the sites I wanted to visit (I chose Amazon and pricegrabber -- shopping survey). Since I was familiar with the sites, and on a fast connection, the survey didn't take long. I answered every question, but upon completion I got a DENIED seconds after hitting submit. I fired back an e-mail to vividence, and got my $10 GC about 24 hours later.
I'll continue to do surveys if I get the chance, but it sure is a bigger PITA than it used to be.

I've also never had any problem with the 4-5 surveys they've sent me. Received a GC promptly after each one.
I also take my time and usually complete the survey in a little longer time than they predict it would take. I take my time and comment every 2-3 clicks when browsing a site, etc... I'm also 100% honest with the answers to their questions.. If I think the site is poorly laid out, I'll say that! That's what they're looking for.. honest answers...
also, every few months I'll go back and check the query surveys they have for personal information, making sure it's all up to date, etc... keeping it 100% up to date will mean you'll be more apt to get a survey that fits your criteria..

Hey, I got a GC for my last evaluation, and was a little surprised!! It involved a company I have done business with before & was less than satisfied, and I gave them very good, impartial feedback regarding their web site, etc., but when they asked based on my evaluation was I more or less likely to purchase something from this company, and I clicked the Snowball's Chance button, and when it asked why, I said the web site was fine but they screwed up my last dealing with them so bad that there's no way I'd ever use them for anything under any circumstances. I figured they might decide to throw out my survey if they thought I was too biased to be reliable, but they didn't.

I keep getting invitations or whatever to do surveys. I did a couple at first and spent a fair amount of time and then it says I am entered to win a coupon etc for amazon gc. I stopped doing them along time ago but I still get an invitation to do a survey occasionally. How do you get an amazon gc for this? I just figured it was another con and stopped answering.
