DeepDiscountDVD does not work!?

Is there anyone else out there having problems with DDD? I bought from them before, and had no problems (besides the fact that it takes a while to get your order). All day long I have been trying to buy a couple of "honeymooners" dvd's and it does not let me. When i click buy, then either "continue to secure checkout", or "choose my shipping preference" i just get tons of errors. (after i scroll way down the page to actually see the error report) I have tried to hit the buy button on other titles too and i just keep getting errors GALORE. Plus, it wont let me put items in my cart and get more items, it keeps showing the cart as empty. Please tell me I am not the only one having this problem. Thank you.

We had similar problems a few weeks ago with DDD. We were using IE and couldn't get anything to go into the shopping cart at all. When we tried it on Netscape 4.6 we had no problems at all. The problem that we had with IE seemed to correct itself though as I placed 2 orders this weekend. So if you have Netscape, you may want to try that.

I got my Wicker Man SE from them last week no problem. Try clearing their Cookie from your browser and run the order again. I had a problem once getting errors on an order and they wrote me back with that advice. Seemed to clear the Script Error I was getting right up.

I can't seem to get through to anything right now...hopefully it's just a temporary server error.

Couldn't get on yesterday afternoon. Tried again this morning, and still nothing. Hope this isn't a bad sign.

Was just there. Had a few problems, at first; but, everything seems to be okay now. This has got to be the SLOWEST site ever created. Thank goodness it's prices are so good!

Use the following IP address in your browser (Internet Exploder or Netscrape):

204.167.145.10

This should work, but the site is flaky at best.

Dear DVDTalk Members,

I would like to apologize for any difficulties that you have experienced while trying to access DeepDiscountDVD.com in the last two days.

We have experienced some problems with our domain name not resolving correctly in different areas of the country and we are currently working to correct the problem.

We do hope to have the error corrected shortly.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your business. Your support and feedback have helped us grow and improve our services.

Because of your suggestions we have drastically expanded the number of titles that we carry at DeepDiscountDVD.com and within the next few weeks we will be offering an online order tracking system that will assist you in knowing the status of your order.

Again, thank you for your business and I apologize for any inconvenience the recent down time has caused.

Sincerely,

David Barker
Director of Internet Marketing

I wish i was not so impatient......First of all, I want to thank everyone who helped me with my problem. I took almost ALL your advice. The person who mentioned something about the cookie, I wiped that out (it didnt help, but i appriciate it) :-) Then someone suggested using netscape instead of IE. Unfortunetly I just got done uninstalling netscape about a month ago...DOH. I tried all day Sunday, and all day Monday, and I could not get past the "choose your shipping/proceed to secure checkout page". I just tried the numbered link that was posted on here "204.167.145.10 " and the site was a little slow, BUT it let me go through the checkout process.....WOOOHOOO. Only problem is.....I am so impatient, that after not being able to get anywhere sun and mon, I ordered all 10 dvd's I wanted late monday with many different orders at amazon (I had a lot of coupons..LOL) and 2 at Half.com. And I wanted to thank DDD for taking the time to post a reply in here too. i thought that showed that they really thrive for good customer relations!!!

Hey folks. I was getting this problem too yesterday. I resolved it by getting into the site through DVDPriceSearch. There's a link at the bottom of the opening page. Subsequently, I was able to make a purchase. Hope this helps!

Just placed my order and had no problem at all. Maybe the errors have been fixed.

I finally had my first problem with DDD. I ordered a title on 9/1 and received the first email that said they would Email my confirmation number within 24 hours. Its now 9/4 and I emailed them this morning about it and they replied back that I had to send them an order number (I sent the only email I got from them on this order) and my full/name billing address.

I did this and was told again to send to send my full name and billing address or the order number so I replied again.

It seems some other place handles their problems as the email I get is from them is from [email protected] <[email protected]>
