BN.com exchange at BN B&M???!!!
So yesterday I am watching Gettysburg and when a fight scene starts my player says disc scratched cannot play message. I ejected it, blew on it, and re-inserted it to make it work like most dvds i have problems with. Well, same error. I take the disc out and there is no marks/scratches on it so I figure it's a bad disk.
So I call bn.com. They offer to send me another dvd right away. Whooopey! But then they ask for a CC and want to charge me until I return the disc. I just want them to send me a new one. They say they can't do that. I ask them why since my defective disk is no good and cannot be given to anyone else. Then they suggest I might sell it to someone for profit by lying to them. I ask how long to ship, they tell me 4 days. I say, "crap, you sold me a defective disk and now I want my money back." Then they start this open dvd copyright stuff and I'm fuming now." I hang up the phone and go to the BN store in the galleria.
They were very nice there and I showed my online receipt and they give me an exchange. I was very happy. Took the disk back and realized I was watching part II instead of part I at the beginning. Anyways, now I like the B&M bn.com. Wonder why they don't have any "new customer" coupons though.
Either way, I am happy with the BN B&M CSR, they were extremely nice to me. Guess it is true is that it's harder to be rude to someone face to face - though at the store they never seemed like that - they were very nice and apologetic about it.

I bought a book a couple of months ago, but I didn't really need it. Rather than ship it back, I went to a B&M location to return it. The clerks were pretty puzzled as to how to do the return, but I ended up with a full refund plus an extra $5. Needless to say, I didn't question them and went home happy.

BN really seems to have their stuff together.
I ordered two books last week to take advantage of their free shipping deal. One was one that I wanted (a textbook for my son that said 1-2 weeks). The other was a Java book that I found in their Bargains section, just to put it over $100 total so I could use a coupon.
The free shipping deal says you have to check "ship all together", or something like that. I figured, no big deal, since I don't really need the Java book, so I can wait.
A day later, I get an email saying that the Java book is on it's way! I called C.S., and told them that I had checked the ship together option, and she said that they had just shipped the Java book because they knew the other book was going to take awhile. Still free shipping!
