Express.com, When Will It DIE?

I pre-ordered Empire Records way back when from Express because the price was rediculously low. I still haven't received it and the site has it listed as backordered. For all I know they never received any from their supplier, probably because they can't pay.

The site appears to be selling only inventory items and probably hasn't received a new order in months. If anybody has any knowledge about what's going on over there I'd appreciate an update.

Thanks.

I think they are just trying to sell-off stock they already had, atleast from what I could tell the last time I looked there but I'am surprised they are still around or seem to be.

They're still there --- it's like watching something slowly die.

Does anyone actually BUY anything there now?

It's a shame; I used to buy lots of DVDs from them. I liked the fact that they were local (in Hollywood). I never had a problem with them and was sorry to see them go (for all intents and purposes).

I am still waiting on 6 DVDs from them that I ordered in March. After getting no response via email or phone, I submitted a complaint with the BBB. When I got home on Friday, there was a message on my voicemail from someone at Express and he gave me his phone number to try to work something out with him. I am calling him tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes.

Express was my major DVD source until I heard the rumours of their financial troubles from the forum members. Sure enough, later that week they notified me that my T2-UE DVD was shipped, but I never received it. I called them and they said they'd ship me another copy. Guess what? I never got it. I called them again and their service rep, in so many words, called me a liar. He finally give me a credit. After I hung up I cancelled over 30 pre-orders with Express and placed them with DVD Empire. Before that, they were a great company to deal with. I assume you all know that Express is currently under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It's only a matter of time before they are put to rest in the DOT-COM graveyard.
