Do you know who ships R-1 DVD's to Japan besides Amazon.com? buy.com does not ship to Japan, nor does bigstar.com. I am wanting to pre-order the Akira DVD so that I can have a chance to get the Limited Edition Tin. Express.com says that a release data has not even been announced. The film is scheduled for release on July 24!! I'm an American in Japan with my R-1 DVD player, so I need the R-1. By the way - point of interest - DVDs CERTAINLY are expensive here!!
Thanks for your input.

I exclusively use Amazon.com to get my DVDs from the US. There are a few Canadian online dealers (moviesource.com) that ship to Japan, but, I don't like trying new dealers. Amazon is not the cheapest, but even with shipping its cheaper than most DVDs in Japan.

Although with Sakuraya and a few other stores carrying larger selections of DVDs this might change (but these are largely region 2 dvds).

DVDEmpire is the best place for ordering DVDs that ship here. I have used them and their shipping is more than reasonable.
