Well, it's funny you should mention this...

I was one of those "early orderers" (put it this way, I ordered it with "In the Line Of Fire: SE" before that DVD was out) whose orders got apparently sent to the wrong warehouse or whatever. Based on the other thread I checked that order and it said "Canceled SHIPPING PROBLEMS" (yep, they didn't spell cancelled correctly). So I phoned (just about 15 minutes ago), and after about 30 seconds on hold got connected to a CSR who told me that yes, the order was cancelled, but there is a new order, number ########### for that item so that it will get shipped, and it is already in "processing" status (the other one went straight from "advance" to "backorder"). He assured me that any discount I received on my original order (per the confirmation email) would be reflected in the new order as well.

So I came back to the desk and was able to check the status of that order he gave me the number of and it appears just as he said. Won't be able to check the amount until my credit card actually gets charged, but I don't anticipate any problems. If there are, then I have the original confirmation email to fall back on.

Two suggestions to twec.com...

1 - would it kill you to give me a list of orders for my email like amazon does? That's what passwords are for, right?

2 - would it also kill you to add costs and discount info to the order status?

Now that being said, I have yet to receive the email mentioned above. So if you have been cancelled, and haven't received any email about it, this may be the deal. Just call and check if there is a new order for you...

For the record, I like the new order better for two reasons:

First, the title on the old order is "Dvd-Spartacus, Spartacus Dvd" and in the new order it is "Kirk Douglas
Spartacus - Criterion Collection".

Second, the item numbers are different (old number = 71551501723, new # = DDHMV CC1568D).

So at least it doesn't look like they were trying to scam me, looks like legitimate inventory control issues they needed to resolve.

thanks, checked mine too and it had been shipped....was worried because I used a one time use card and the expiration was prior, but they authorized it earlier.

I had pre-ordered mine from TWEC and actually received it 1 day before street date. I guess I was a lucky one!

Great... My new order is still "processing". Did anyone else order their original order before me (3/30) and not get theirs shipped yet? Oh, and I finally got that explanation email late yesterday...

Just an update with the twec issues

Both of my replacement orders now show the items as "shipped". The original orders display "item cancelled due to shipping problems". It took them 3 days to ship these dvds from the day I called and received a replacement order for both.

I got the "Cancelled/New Order Placed" email on April 30 and received Spartacus:CC from them yesterday. 2 days total, not bad.

Those who used a coupon on your order...

Did the shipping email of the new order reflect the discount you expected? Mine did not...

Was your credit card charged at the discounted price? I don't know about mine because it hasn't posted yet (just shipped today)...

Order Date: 05/01/2001
Shipping Method: USPS
Payment Method: Visa

Desc: Spartacus - Criterion Collection - Kirk Douglas
Qty: 1 Price: $36.88 Extended Price: $36.88
Item #: DDHMV CC1568D Location: 0B Status: Shipped (5/3/01)

Merchandise Total: $36.88
Shipping & Handling: $1.99
Sales Tax: $0.00
Order Total: $57.76
Again, my original order was using the 15% off, free shipping coupon (yes, I only used it once).

IIRC the email reflects the MSRP but the actual charge on the card has always been correct (atleast for me ).

Well... this is odd.

The only charge from TWEC in the last couple days would be a $2.15 credit posted on 5/2. Maybe I am getting this title free from TWEC and they are paying me for my troubles!

Oh the "extra $20" cost in that email seems to be the other disk I had in that order, that I had already received and paid for (at the correct amount) a month ago.

Has anyone been charged for their copy of Spartacus from Twec? Just got my credit card statement today and they list a credit for $5.36 and $2.13 from Twec, but no charges for the DVD. I even checked my credit card by phone today and no charges have been posted. I received the DVD on May 4 and can say it is an excellent DVD.

All I got was a $2.11 credit. Now that I have my DVD, they can't go and charge me now can they?

I havn't been charged either and I got mine days ago. I used the 25% off coupon, but it still shouldn't have been free. Will go and look for a credit.

I placed an order for Spartacus (Criterion) with TWEC on 5/3/01. The order consisted of 13 DVDs, including pre-orders. I received an e-mail confirmation of my order within about 15 minutes. I received an e-mail from them on 5/5/01 advising that Spartacus and several other in stock DVDs had been shipped. I received the shipment yesterday, 5/9. I checked my credit card account (on-line) and I was charged the proper amount for the DVDs shipped. I use TWEC quite a bit and I have not had any major problems with them. I will continue to use them.

Looks like Twec finally got around to billing my credit card today. But I still don't understand what the credits are for since they charged me the proper price for the DVDs that I ordered. I guess maybe it is for the trouble they caused with my orders. It is strange that everyone is getting slightly different amounts credited back.
