So GB has always been a great bet to finish on the podium, not so much for the top step. Basically, if you beat GB in the playoffs you were probably going to the Super Bowl.

Re: NFL Conference Championship Sunday Thread - 1/24/21
While GB has been a perennial playoff team in that span, there always seems to be one NFC team each season that spikes up (sometimes out of nowhere) to surpass them. Last year it was the 49ers, famously the Giants twice, the Cowboys a couple of times in the 90s, etc.

Still hard to believe with 2 1st-ballot HOF QBs.

Also, the post Cowboys/Jimmie Johnson era kind of makes my point...there was no dominant team (like the Patriots in the AFC) keeping them out...every year it seemed like there was a different team that would rise up and have their number.

Point being, IMO only the Cowboys kept them from going to a couple more Super Bowls in the 90's. Counting the current season, 16 times in 28 seasons of Favre/Rodgers they have gotten to the NFC final four, and yet only 3 times to the Super Bowl (with 1 pending). So it's an amazing run of success staying near the top, but very average once they reach the doorstep.

If your opinion is that only DAL stood btwn GB and the NFC title from 1992-94, then you have a really bad memory.

I was talking 93-95. Dallas knocked them out in the NFC Title game in '95, that one is a given, and they played Dallas better than SF in '93 as well. Plus GB was 3-0 against SF in the playoffs in the mid '90s (twice @ SF), thus I pin it on Dallas who knocked them out all 3 years. So yeah, my memory is just fine. I'm saying that in at least '93 & '95 Dallas was the only thing between GB and the SB.

It's so good to actually see fans in the stands.
It's reported to be 8,000+ for this game.

It would have been horrible to play this game in an empty stadium.

Brady throws up a prayer and God (win) delivers. Then that TD to Fournette. GB D absolutely sucks.
