Now I'm curious: I love Steamboat, but what does Flair think Danielson lacks in terms of in-ring skills?

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.
He didn't say specifically. Ric said on his podcast that Bryan didn't get over until Triple H put him over (bullshit) and that he wasn't that good because as a face he wasn't Steamboat and as a heel, he aint Ric Flair.

Jim Cornette and Brian Last blasted Hannibal for like forty minutes on the most recent episode of the Drive Thru podcast. Pretty entertaining listen.

Im so sick of Flair. Hes said so many negative things over the last few years that really rub people the wrong way.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.
The huge problem with Flair is that he’s an insecure man and has been one since he left WCW back in 1991. What Jim Herd told said got to his head and from then on he has always diminished the skills of the people around him to feel better. For example, saying that Mick Foley is a glorified stunt man. Talking shit about Bret. Talking shit about Danielson. It’s petty, untrue and childish

Not surprised that the person that writes himself to say the n word on live TV also writes himself to say this bullshit after firing over 250 people from the company over the past year

I really hope Cole doesn’t heel on Fish and O Reilly. He’s so much better with them than the baboon brothers. The Bucks devalue anything they touch.

I’m baffled as to why Brian Pillman Jr isn’t getting a main show push. He’s still green, but he’s got everything.

AEW is standing head and shoulders above every wrestling promotion on the planet right now. What an absolutely amazing episode of Dynamite.

I took my daughter to her first wrestling show last night(AEW) and my first since the Mankind/Rock This is your life RAW from ages ago. Great experience. I wasn't so sure it was going to be as they moved us and a bunch of others that had tickets in the same section to the opposite side of the arena. But the move was well worth it as we got seeded directly behind the hard camera and had a great view of all the action. While Cody got lots of cheers, the heat was pretty heavy even after the show ended. Hook was way over with the crowd and he even got brought back out after the show.

I did like that Cole and O Reilly had words for each other even though it made no storyline sense since Cole's the one who invited him. But overall if I didn't already know who he was, that introduction would not have sold me on KOR.

Like rocket said, one he’s put in with main event players, Pillman gets exposed. I saw Pillman in MLW and he look more sure of himself there than in AEW. He needs to get that confidence back in him. Once he gets more polished and confident about being in the spotlight, he should shine like the star he is

So wait, Cody won the TNT title from Sammy? Isn’t he being set up as one of the future players in the company? Cody proceeds to get booed out of the building in his home town and makes some
dumb joke about his heel? God I can not stand him, and not in a storyline sense, go away heat.

Cody is definitely playing the crowd/internet audience with all his heel tendencies. They talk about him as Homelander because of his "wrapped in the flag" look and ornate entrances, but there is no way he lacks the self awareness to see that those entrances especially have turned him into a heel.
Sammy announced his breakup with his fiance and he and Tay flirt a lot on the blog which has people making assumptions and (of course) attacking on the internet but I don't think he's got heat for that. It's not like his earlier situation with the comments about Sasha. He's probably just run his course with the belt. What does he do next? I think he works way better as a heel (despite his vlog) because he's just kinda there as a face, but certainly Cody isn't going to take him there. The worst thing about his reign was that it was all downhill from that Miro match. He had some decent matches with Ethan Page, Lethal, Fish, and others but nothing that stood out, and putting him back into an Inner Circle storyline with America's Top Team made it hard for him to stand out with the title.
The other thing I wonder is if TNT didn't want the title on a more established name with the other show going to TBS, especially one they are pushing as a host on their other reality shows.

If AEW is looking at Cody to be the face of the move to TBS clueless.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.
This is the TNT title, so my thinking was that they wanted Cody featured on Rampage since TBS's show is longer and can feature the other belts. But that's just pure speculation on my part. I mean Cody has held the belt three times which is quite a feat when this is only the 7th crowned champion. He's also been teasing using the pedigree (which he always changes into a suplex).
The weirdest AEW thing to me of the last few weeks is Hook going from almost an internet meme to wrestling his first two matches and somehow being super super super over. After the Rampage taping was over, Tony actually brought Hook back out and he and Cody went back and forth.

I avoided reading this in full until after the holidays were over but man, I won't lie, it brought me to tears. Plus an WWE/AEW crossover at the end:

Another reason why Raw is unwatchable. Dolph Ziggler came to the ring at 10:10pm after WWE showed a package as to why his match with Priest was happening. Then, they went to commercials and came back at 10:15. For some fucking reason, they decided to run a package of Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch that lasted 10 minutes. Then they went back to commercials. They come back to show an interview with Priest at 10:30 and after 2 minutes, they finally introduced Damien Priest. The match started at 10:34 and they went back to commercials. Then at 10:37 we are back to the match, one in which the crowd is completely dead
