So they had Cody go over Black in an overbooked mess of a third match? Whatever Cody and AEW are trying to do with this character isn’t working and the audience is revolting.

I wonder if Vince and Kevin Dunn are going to throw a fit a sue IMPACT since they used the IIconics poses throughout their presentation

That makes sense. I watched that segment and their interaction came off as really odd (throwing the belts around like they were nothing) especially considering it ended with Banks and Charlotte with Becky just walking out.

On a side note, having not watched the product for a while I had no idea Sasha was supposed to be a face and was wondering why they were using three heels in this segment.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.

I haven't watched Smackdown or Crown Jewel, but Sasha has been presented as a heel since her return after Wrestlemania to challenge Bianca.

Maybe she's a face again with Bianca gone, but there has been nothing to show that she turned back.

Who was that doing the singing? It was obviously lip syncing, but the woman was attractive.

I think it's kind of cool that wrestlers now have several options open to them if WWE doesn't work out or that just isn't where they want to go. In terms of using IIconics poses, I've heard of names being trademarked, but not body positions. Hulk Hogan was able to do his poses when he came to WCW, but that may have been different.

Harley Cameron. That was her voice, but yeah, she was probably lip syncing there. She's a singer, MMA ring girl, and wrestler in training at a school run by Tyler Breeze and Sean Spears (Cassie Lee's husband, so there's the connection). She's also married to NXT talent Xyon Quinn, and she's best friends with Scarlett and Shotzi Blackheart (who she recorded this song with):

It kinda sucks, but they all look hot, and Shotzi's rock vocals aren't bad.

Her instagram is also worth checking out. https://www.instagram.com/danni_ellexo/

Hogan was doing his body poses when he was in AWA, predating his face run in WWF in 1984. Same thing with Randy Savage and his mannerisms, as he was doing those in Memphis before arriving to WWF. Funny thing though is that Hogan had to pay Marvel Comics a yearly fee for using the name Hulk. After Marvel’s bankruptcy, Hogan was able to come to a deal with them and pay a one last fee to use the name Hulk in perpetuity.

The only person I’m surprised was able to use his nickname outside of WWF was Bret Hart. He was able to use Hitman, the Excellence of Execution and the best there is, the best there was and the best there will ever will be in WCW, even though all of that was created while he was in WWF. On the other hand, Jim Neidhart wasn’t able to use the Anvil nickname outside WWF.

Re: The 2021 Pro Wrestling Thread.

If there’s a thing I find completely stupid is WWE calling any of their shows a season premiere when they don’t have a week off. It doesn’t make any sense and then again it’s one of the stupid things that Vince forces Cole and Graves to mention at least 5 times in each segment.

The whole WWE commentary is horrible because they are all forced to say the same WWE shit over and over. “We are on Monday Night Raw”, “It’s the season premiere”, “the WWE Universe”, “WWE Superstar xyz”, “is BOSS Time”, “The EST”.

At 52 years old Dustin Rhodes is 10 times the wrestler Jericho is. Hell he’s better than Cody too. I wish he’d get featured on tv more.

WWE ANNOUNCES NEW TRADING CARD LICENSEE

By [email protected] on 2021-10-26 09:48:00WWE issued the following:

The Panini Group to Become Exclusive Trading Card Partner of WWE®

10/26/2021

Multi-year agreement will begin in the first quarter of 2022 with the release of WWE Prizm

IRVING, Texas & STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Panini Group and WWE (NYSE: WWE) announced today a multi-year agreement that will make Panini WWE’s exclusive trading card and collectible sticker partner. The landmark agreement will begin in the first quarter of 2022 and will include multiple trading card products during the first year. Panini’s U.S. subsidiary, Panini America will be responsible for developing the WWE trading card products.

The first product release – 2022 WWE Prizm – will coincide with the buildup surrounding WrestleMania®, WWE’s biggest annual event, taking place on April 2 and 3 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas. WWE trading card products will be available at mass retailers including Walmart and Target, as well as hobby stores nationwide and online.

“We have always been intrigued by WWE as a license partner and their fans’ incredible passion,” said Panini America CEO Mark Warsop. “Our entire team is looking forward to adding WWE, a truly iconic license, to our roster of exclusive partners. We have big plans for our WWE portfolio and the new heights we can help WWE trading cards and stickers reach in the collectibles arena.”

“Panini has a 60-year history in sports and entertainment collectibles and is a leader in the trading card space throughout the U.S. as well as in Latin America, Europe and Asia,” said Scott Zanghellini, WWE Senior Vice President, Revenue Strategy & Development. “We believe that this partnership perfectly aligns our mutual interests in providing fans with exclusive collectibles and, ultimately, growing this category globally.”

Does anyone else feel that WWE giving Zelina the Queen crown was just a way to shut her up about the independent contractor issue and the take the idea out of her head about wrestlers being part of SAG?

I've never been able to figure this out. Is the "season premiere" the same week every year?

The bit on SmackDown with Charlotte and Becky this past Friday gave the impression that they're a couple of 13 year old girls in 30 something year old bodies.

It’s because Dustin has adapted his style to fit his age, whereas Jericho still tries to do the stuff he did in his prime, and isn’t able to pull off all his old moves as well.

And Dustin is in the best shape he's ever been as he stopped drinking, doing drugs, and started eating healthy. Jericho is doing the complete opposite.

Hey, the guy is the Sammy Vlog champ, though (I laughed when he said that was his first major championship in his career).

Ok, the Chucky stuff from last night was kinda' silly but the fact that they used Bron Breakker in a callback to 1998 with Chucky and his father was well played.
