I wonder what the reasoning is for the small blurbs of KC, Cincy, and Indy to get the Carolina/Arizona game.

I was wondering pretty much the same thing about KC, Denver and Nashville getting Chargers/Texans when everyone else not involved gets NO/SEA. Those are regions where the local team is in the same Division with one of the participating teams, but so what -- and if that's important, why not include Indy and Jax as well?

Simple. Indy, KC, and Cincy play 1p games on CBS so their local FOX affiliates don't want to compete with the home team playing at 1. That's why those affiliates are going with a 4p game on FOX and there are only 2 choices there.

Re: 2019 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 3

I had been a bit worried about what games we were going to air here in DC but I am pretty happy with the result. We do not necessarily get Baltimore games as it is another market, but we are getting KC/Ravens. We are also getting Pittsburgh/49ers, which I am happy about. Both Pittsburgh/SF and NO/Seattle feature "damaged goods" teams without their starting QB but at least we'll get a 49ers day game broadcast here, which is something that rarely happens. It will be an all-CBS Sunday afternoon. All six of FOX's slotted games are garbage on Sunday.

With online sports gambling becoming more legal (yay NJ) is there any interest in a betting thread, or would people here share what games they are thinking of gambling on?

He had a sponsorship with them? Maybe they were regionally targeted but I don't recall ever seeing him in a Nike add?

I'm sure hundreds of NFL players have deals with Nike to wear their shoes and stuff. Doesn't mean that they're doing TV and print ads. I think just about every NBA player has a shoe deal with Nike, Adidas, Reebok or Under Armor (except Lonzo Ball)

And since the map was originally posted, they swapped to the other afternoon game for Indy and Cincy. I guess the new Giants QB announcement is potentially a bigger curiosity/interest.

Taco is now officially a 1st round bust.

Most fans were pissed about that pick, they wanted TJ Watt, who was still available.

And he was just picked up by the Dolphins, so both Taco Charlton and Robert Quinn (suspension over) will get to play against their former team when the Dolphins visit the Cowboys on Sunday.

Re: 2019 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 3

I was talking to a friend about the Heisman just now and it just occurred to me that we currently have six Heisman-winning QBs who are starting for an NFL team this year (Cam, Jameis, Mariota, Lamar, Baker, Murray) - that's more than were even modestly successful (non-bust) QBs in the previous four decades (Plunkett, Flutie, Testaverde, Palmer, Bradford).

Part of the reason for that was that incredible black hole throughout the 90s of giving the Heisman to people like Andre Ware, Ty Detmer, Gino Toretta, and Danny Wuerffel

Ravens @ Chiefs should be the late CBS national Nantz and Romo doubleheader game and not Seahawks @ Saints.

I bet Texans @ Chargers will probably be one of the best and exciting games on Sunday.

The Bears have not beaten the Redskins since Dec 2003 at Soldier Field

I didn't realize tonight's game was only on the NFL Network. When do the Thursday games begin to be shown on Fox?

Fournette has 15 carries for 66 yards, with a long of 69.

I said this last week but I really really have to avoid TNF in fantasy. Tennessee defense did absolutely nothing.

Jags D had a good game, but yeah, TNF tends to be fantasy death.

I'll give them credit, they bottled up Fornette for all but one run. But that doesn't give any fantasy points. My fault for betting against ROY Gardner Minshew II.
