Took a nap, woke up and flipped to CBS. Surprise surprise Bama up 28 in the first quarter. With 3 min left.

There is fun in CFB, but there is so much predictability.

edit: not covering the spread yet. Almost.

Will be interesting to see if they award a Heisman to a QB who doesn't get touched.

Re: 2018 College Football Week 8

Buckeyes have been very opportunistic this year in a couple of their wins, with the other team making mistakes. Purdue not making mistakes and the Buckeyes are a VERY undisciplined team this year.

Oh well.

So awesome.

But OSU will probably run the table and the committee will put them in....because.

Purdue could still win the west. It's wide open.

Totally could see it happen. Think it was a terrible precedent to put in an Alabama team last year that didn't even play for their Conference title. Now the Committee has Carte Blanche to do it again this year for tOSU.

The Buckeyes will have to lose again to not play for the conference title.

Ah, I didn't realize that was the case.

Re: 2018 College Football Week 8

This loss pretty much eliminates the chance of tOSU getting into the playoff without winning a conference title. It was possible before if OSU lost to Michigan in the season finale and finished with one loss, but after that, there's no way the Big Ten qualifies two teams this year. Michigan and OSU are pretty much the only teams that can make it from the Big Ten at this point.

Ohio State fell all the way to number 11 with last night's loss. It would be hard pressed for them to make it back into the top four.

Re: 2018 College Football Week 8

I still feel like they would make it easy if they run the table. Especially if we don't lose before The Game. I guess our shot is better than theirs at this point though. If we don't lose another game, we have what looks like the best loss among the 1 loss teams.

Also the AP and coaches polls don't count for anything. The first official CFP rankings don't come out until after next week's games.

Run the table? I get your sentiments and rationale, but they will be lucking to win another effing game this season. Drastic changes are needed.

As far as them being in the playoffs if they somehow, improbably, run the table and win the conference, it would depend on how they play and what others do. After that loss, would you put them in over a one loss conference champion Texas? If we assume three spots are locked-in barring an upset, anybody think Ohio State would be a lock to nab that last spot? I don't. Nor should they.

I wouldn't put them in but I'm not on the committee. The committee loves the big time name programs.

The only good thing to come out of UH Football this season is this amazing version of the National Anthem from Saturday's sparsely attended game :

The committee ranked them fifth last year when they had two losses, one of which was a 31-point loss to Iowa.
