Irish finally get a TD, but miss the deuce.

UGA in big trouble at LSU.

Jesus, Auburn. Tennessee??? I knew they weren't anywhere near as good as their #8 ranking (and was shocked that they held onto a ranking at all after last week), but this is pretty pathetic.

The GA/LSU score so far just shows how lousy college football prognosticators are for the first half of the season. GA has played exactly nobody so far so no one really knows how good they are.

Oregon pulling off the upset. Well, mild upset since Washington was only favored by 3.

Washington Huskies sabotaged by their damn kicker again. So many problems there over the years.

I was worried about the Buckeyes' effort until I saw Georgia, Washington, Penn State, and ND.

Hopefully that'll take some of the national glare off their uninspired performance, but unless they right the ship here, they'll get taken down before the Big Ten Championship, if not before TTUN.

There's going to be a huge shakeup in the polls tomorrow. It will be interesting to see where everyone lands.

I missed the UCF comeback. Committee probably will too.

Upset on paper only, IMHO.

Washington's prior loss was at the hands of Auburn, who, while highly-ranked at the time, now has three losses, two of them against less than stellar opponents. Washington's high ranking was based on the premise that Auburn was good. None of their wins were against teams that are ranked now, including two fairly tight wins over the 1-5 UCLA Bruins and 3-3 Arizona State.

Bosa opting out of playing again at OSU.

Interesting... and costly for OSU's defense. I wonder how much more often we'll see this type of decision making for star college players? First bowl games, now regular season.

I'm a Buckeye fan and it does make sense for him. He likely wasn't going to play any more this year and even with his injury, his draft status this year will be pretty high.

It would suck if players still playing started doing this somehow, though.

I won't speak to this particular instance because even though Nick Bosa owes no one anything (and his former teammates seem to be fine with his decision) because when I got this alert on my phone this morning, for a second I got irrationally mad. But the situation speaks to the need for the NCAA to figure out a way of compensation for the athletes that generate SO much money for the institutions for which they play.

I'm not saying they'll be able to do anything close to what Nick stands to gain as a pro, but maybe he at least tries to come back and finish the season (what he started).

Then again, maybe THAT's the problem; he KNOWS he can't finish the season. Maybe his rehab isn't going as well as the optimal timetable put out right after his surgery. Maybe he knew he'd be stringing the team along with false hope. Even though it doesn't seem like it, maybe he's doing them a favor so they don't live with false hope that Superman will come back to save their ailing defense. (At least I'd like to think it's something as noble as that, but we know it's all about that NFL contract and it's not like anyone else will line up to give them that money if they get hurt in college. It's not like the decision doesn't make 100% perfect sense for Bosa.)
