No Stacy Kiebler with the women tribute?

Not a very good show so far.

Apparently they have been pissed all night because almost nothing has happened in that arena. According to Twitter, fans were chanting "refund" after the first hour.

Stacy has been completely off the radar since 2016, when she had her baby. And yes, the show has sucked.

Well I have to say, this could have been better. It was no better than when they have retro night RAW every now and then. Ending was weak and useless. Manhattan Center was a bust. Oh well.

I liked HHH giving some rub to Balor. Too bad they had to shit on The Revival to do it.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

In all fairness to the WWE, between all the wrestlers that died young and all the wrestlers currently suing them, they really brought in just about everybody they could.

Hogan and Punk were obviously impossible. Nash and Bret had to cancel. Foley turned them down. I'm sure they asked The Rock, but were turned down.

Sting, Ricky Steamboat, DDP and Jake Roberts would have been cool. (Even though none fo them were ever really RAW guys.)

It would have been nice to see some older guys that don't get brought back often, but I guess most were pre RAW anyhow.

Like it would be cool to see Demolition and Powers of Pain. (I'm not sure exactly who, but I know some of them are currently suing WWE.)

I enjoyed the Mark Henry/Godfather bit, but it would have been fucking awesome if Charles Wright pulled triple duty and when The Boogeyman was eating the worms if Papa Shango showed up behind him and then sitting with the APA was Kama Mustafa. I'm surprised they've never done something like that before. Have one guy show up under all his different gimmicks in the span of one show.

Overall I thought it was as good a show as it could be. I was kind of surprised but kind of not surprised to see Vince's 74 year old ass taking a bump. I'll always pop for Austin, it would have been nice to get a promo though.

Anyways I'm looking forward to the Rumble. I reeeeeeeally hope certain rumours are true.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

The split arena was weird. I was wondering if fans were just sitting in the ball room or if they had some dark matches.

But always good to see some stunners and some legends.

And damn Kelly Kelly looks even hotter.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

I went over to my brother's house to watch the show. Some things about it were fun, other stuff felt sad. All the women looked surprisingly good, during their tribute. Ric Flair looked lucky to be alive. During the APA segment, I wanted to see Al Snow or Steve Blackman make an appearance. I don't get to watch much of today's wrestling, but why can't they bring back the Hardcore Championship. It always felt so cartoony it could be around in the PG era.

They had some dark matches but no screens or monitors to show what was going on at the Barclays.

By the way, what a horrible way to end the Bray Wyatt/Woken Matt Hardy feud.

If he's innocent, he may be rehired like Lawler and others who have gone through this

Title is already listed as vacant.

On a side note there have already been 9 Cruiserweight Champions!

Foley entered a single Royal Rumble 3x using 3 gimmicks

Too bad they don't have enough time to put together a Cruiserweight Rumble for the title.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

I held back my thoughts last night so I could think about it more.

Last night was one of those events in which they have an opportunity to get back some fans they have lost over the last decade, like myself. There should have been two goals:

Showcase the best match ups possible with your young talent.
Promote the Royal Rumble because it's generally the most fan favorite event.

Last night's show failed both of these.

1. Miz v.s Reigns was probably the best match, which says a lot. Here we have a guy everyone over the age of 12 hates against The Miz, who was a midcard jobber when most tuned the WWE out. Informing me that the guy has won the IC belt 7 times really turns me off to the product. Enforces the idea that the titles are valueless still.

2. I don't need to be told about how they are the "women's division", not 'Divas'. Last I checked, they had a women's division they didn't care about in the early 90s. Most tuning back in would probably be more interested in Diva antics anyway. More PC Bullshit.

3. The UT segment was beyond pointless, and no one had an idea what he was talking about, including Ross and Lawler. It's as if they could not figure out how they wanted to use him so they told him to go out and just bullshit everyone.

4. DX looked old, and sad. Actually made me feel sorry for all of them except Hunter.

5. Hogan not being allowed back is more PC bullshit.

6. I heard Austin blew a gasket backstage, and told them not to call him again unless they have something for him to actually do that involves being allowed to speak.

On the flip side.

1. Scott Hall's entrance being interrupted by a commercial was a brilliant throwback to 93 Raw, because that used to happen all the time! Probably put more thought into that than the rest of the show.

2. Torrie Wilson. Holly Shit!

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

I'll agree with everything except your downplaying of Miz. I mean we all know why Reigns lost to him (to set up a different match), but Miz has absolutely been one of the best heels in the business for several years, it's unfair to label the IC belt as valueless because he's held it 7 times. Even just yesterday his stare down with Bryan was great as was his use of all of Bryan's old moves.

Re: The 2018 Pro Wrestling Thread.

I can't stand the Miz. Reality TV reject. I've never seen a single match of his that was anything above average. Looked totally lost in that WM main event.

I don't hate Reigns btw, I just don't understand pushing him to this day.

The Miz is the best heel in the business, easy.
