Notes: I really messed up my auction league by bidding most of my $200 budget on OBJ, Howard, and Ajayi. Howard went for just $40 and I was trying to bid him up and got burned. Also, the highest pick I had was pick 5. I had pick 12 in two leagues. I went Walker for TE in most leagues. I just didn't want to spend a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a TE.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

Ajayi is out this week and it seems more and more likely OBJ will be too. Luckily that should only be week 1, but yikes for that auction team. But with 7 leagues I'm sure you'll get blown out in some and blow out the opponent in others every single week.

I got Irmaed really bad this week. 2 starters on my auction team out, plus OBJ.... The auction was before he injured his ankle too. I have scrubs on my bench since I spent so much money on three guys. Everyone outbid me on decent depth guys at the end of the auction.....

I think he'll be great in San Fran with Kyle Shanahan as his coach.
I wasn't that big a fan of the rookie backs either. I did take McCaffrey in a PPR league though. I just thought that was really high for unproven talent. I agree with you on Pryor and Garcon. I just hope Cousins gives Pryor Red Zone looks. I think Garcon will be a volume monster since there isn't really anyone else to throw to in San Francisco.

Rookie backs are always overvalued because the position is scarce and there's a history of immediate success. If you want them, you have to invest heavily. I was constantly mock-drafting Fournette after taking OBJ at #4, but Antonio Brown and Juwan Howard ended up falling to me at those spots. I did go in on Hunt but barely missed Mixon. I definitely whiffed on rookie backs in the past so we'll see what happens this year.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

Juwan Howard?

Yeah I don't think I'd be comfortable with a bunch of rookie backs (especially at that ADP), but rb in general is a crapshoot (unless you're starting in Dallas) due to opportunity and injuries anyway. After the first few backs, even at the tail end of the first round you're kinda iffy on which RB will make it. I mean Ware kinda saved me last year in a couple of leagues, and at least that offense runs the ball a lot.

I'm not really into vetoing trades, but we have one guy trading D. Johnson and a defense for Cam and Jarvis Landry. That seems way way off, even in a league that can start two QBs.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

Jordan Howard My second thought was "Jalen Howard" but that didn't sound right either so I had to look it up.

And yeah, trading the top player in fantasy for a top-10 QB and maybe-top-30 WR sounds false.

You know it's bad when you can't even remember the name of one of your top picks...

Me, I always get confused for some reason between Kelvin Benjamin and Allen Robinson, probably because I also get confused between the Panthers and the Jaguars at times.

In my defense, I do remember the name of my first pick even if I can't remember the second.

Hunt never fumbled... until I drafted him in multiple leagues. Doh. Please don't exile him to the bench.

I have Gillislee and Alex Smith on the bench. Not that I'd ever would've started them. I mean unless your draft went awry Gillislee should be your RB3, so maybe a flex play if you're not ppr. Now come back next week when we start him and White or whoever gets all the carries.

Ok Kareem Hunt, all is forgiven.

I'm pleased with Hunt!

Gillislee was started in two of my three leagues, both times as a flex. Though logistically it seems if you're going to start a guy on Thursday, you might as well use him at his position and keep your flex open for other switches like if you get a late injury.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

For some reason, all of my autodrafted teams ended up with Gillislee on them. Of course, on the bench (though as mentioned, there was no logical reason anyone could've known to play him tonight).

I think I joined too many leagues. It seems like I either have or am playing against everyone Though that kind of makes me approach the lineups logically, and then maybe be able to just sit back and enjoy the games (and whatever happens, happens).

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

Kelce has done little so far, have him starting for two teams. Have Gillislee starting in the flex spot on one team...and Hunt is on my bench on another team (have Isaiah Crowell and Christian McCaffrey as the starters, a WR in the flex spot)

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

In a few of my leagues, I was able to get Hunt in the late rounds before the Ware injury. My other leagues he went in the 2nd/3rd round after the Ware injury.

I was a little worried heading to the season because I have Gillislee in most of leagues as my RB2, because he was still there in the middle rounds.

I have Hill as my WR1 in two leagues cause I went with RB1, TE1, and QB1 my first three rounds and he was still on the board when I was up to draft in the 4th/5th. But looks like he got banged up.

So far I'm happy with the results for tonight and feel like I got great value for those guys.

I have a feeling those who drafted Hunt before the Ware injury will have a huge leg up on winning their leagues. Still only one game though.

The only consolation for Kelce owners is Gronk had a higher adp and has done about as much.

Lamar Hunt on bench in one league, played in another. At least the one I played him in is for money.

I don't know if it's autocorrect or what but nobody knows the players' names in this thread.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

I have Hunt in the Dvdtalk free league and he got me 44.1 points. I wished I tried to draft him in some other leagues. I left Hill on the bench in my $75 entry fee work league. I feel like an idiot, but I thought that Belichick would find a way to make him a non-factor in the game. I originally had Hunt on the bench too, but decided to start to him. I'm overthinking it already.

I had him in maybe 4 leagues and only started him in one (the league where I have most bad luck) assuming the Pats would blow out the Chiefs and KC would abandon the running game.
