2012-2013 NFL Offseason Thread

I always wanted to start one of these!

One of my favorite NFL offseason days: Bloody Monday. Some of these are according to "sources" and not yet 100% official.

Crennel out in KC, so far it looks like Pioli stays

Tannenbaum out in NY, Rex stays

Reid out in Philly

Shurmur and Heckert out in Cleveland

GM Gene Smith out in Jacksonville

Norval and AJ Smith expected to be gone in San Diego

I wonder if Garrett goes too.

Re: 2012-2013 NFL Offseason Thread

I think Garrett stay but defensive coordinator Rob Ryan would be gone.

Kyle Shanahan would get offer from any team that need a new head coach.

Lovie Smith looks to be getting the ax. Friend told me it was on Twitter so I don't have a link yet. But it was on Twitter... it just HAS to be true.

Ian Rapoport is reporting both Lovie Smith and Chan Gailey have been fired. (courtesy of his official twitter account)

Not often you see a coach that goes 10-6 get canned. But I was never much of a Lovie believer anyhow.

I suppose that's what happens when you miss the playoffs for 5 of the last 6 years. Bears have had some shit luck too though. Cutler and Forte hurt at random times this season. Urlacher going down with a big injury as well.

I like that Bears team so hopefully they get on the right track with a new coach next year. I think they have pieces in place to make a playoff run.

Last 5 out of 6? Hmmmm. It doesn't really feel that way looking from afar. And I guess it really has been 7 seasons since they were in the SB....time flies.

All the talk about how great Jay Cutler is and thats a shocking stat about playoff appearances.

Whats the NFL record for most head coaching firings in one day?

Not shocked about the Lovie Smith firing as it seems Emery will want to bring his own coach. However, is not entirely his fault as some of the personnel moves were lacking.

I just hope they go with somebody new and not just a retread like Cowher or Reid type. It could be a long season next year for Bears fans...

I am amazed at the number of fellow Steelers fans calling for Tomlin to go on the message boards. To me that is just stupid. Hell we could have had our own MASH unit this year. The team finished 1st in Defense. Yea they laid some eggs but fire Tomlin, I think that is a bit harsh.

Re: 2012-2013 NFL Offseason Thread

There are lots of tools on every team message board. It's why, except for Bucknell Hoops, I don't bother with any for my teams of interest.

Why?

All anyone talked about was the Houston Texans offense that he ran, he left, they kep winning.

He comes to DC and can't make anything work until RGIII and Alfred Morris.

Realistically, could he go to KC or Chicago and do the same thing? I don't think so.

amazing that both Rex Ryan and Rob Ryan still have jobs as of today.

Cards fire GM Rod Graves.

One step in the right direction. Now fire Wiz and make Horton the head coach.

Well, you got half your wish as Wizenhunt is gone.

Absolute carnage!

Good. I liked Wiz and quite a bit of it is not his fault (not drafting any OL early in the past 5 years), but he needed to go.

Lovie's biggest downfall, besides missing the playoffs 5 of 6 years, was his complete inability to hire an offensive coordinator. Next year will be the 4th coordinator in Cutler's 5 years. Glad to see him go. The offenses were ranked 23rd or worse in 8 of Lovie's 9 years.

Skins road schedule is brutal: besides the divisonal games, it's GB, MIN, ATL, DEN, OAK.

If Ken Whisenhunt needs a job, I know plenty of Steelers fans who would love to have him back as offensive coordiantor. :)

Can't believe Lovie Smith got fired...he won't be out of a job long - unless he decides he doesn't want to coach next year. When you can get 10 wins with freakin' Jay Cutler as your QB, you're a GOOD coach!

Would love to see Bill Cowher come out of retirement for the Eagles job...don't see him doing it, though (for them or anyone else).

Re: 2012-2013 NFL Offseason Thread

Cards also fire all the offensive coaches, but keep the defensive coaches on staff. That leads me to believe this is Ray Horton's job to decline.
