Re: Horse Racing -- The Sport of Kings -- 2012 and beyond

Nice win for Texas Red albeit in a diminished Jim Dandy field. Good time and a 106 BSF. Sad that they only drew 4 for the race.

Easy win for Beholder in the Hirsch -- by 7 lengths.

There's no 3-year old that can challenge him - now The BCC is something different.

Fuck that. There's no older horse that can challenge him. He's in his own league.

Now the question is do we get to see AP once or twice more before the BCC. I already have my ticket for the BCC.

Honor Code answered the 2 turn question. Good time. 1 1/4 for him is no question.

I threw him out of my plays. Impressive.

Re: Horse Racing -- The Sport of Kings -- 2012 and beyond

Wow. Beholder crushed this field. First filly to win the Pac Classic. Great time for 1 1/4.

Unfortunately I had the 2nd and 3rd in an exacta box.

That was too easy for Beholder. She 'destroyed' a pretty good field.

Question: will she run in the BCC?

Re: Horse Racing -- The Sport of Kings -- 2012 and beyond

I don't see why she shouldn't. She could become the first horse to win three different BC races (Juv. Fillies, BC Distaff, Classic) if she were to win. 114 BSF for Beholder. Highest of the year so far.

AP will be running in the Travers.

Rachel's 1st foal (with Curlin), Jess's Dream, made his first start (he's a 3yo) at Saratoga today and won. Came from way back; was out of the TV picture for all but the last couple furlongs.

It looks as if American Pharoah is going to be retired. Obviously he's not going to run in the BCC.

That was a punishing 2nd 1/2 mile. I don't think they expected Frosted to race that hard in the opening mile.

106 BSF for Keen Ice.

Re: Horse Racing -- The Sport of Kings -- 2012 and beyond

You could tell he was having a tougher race when it took him a while to fend off Frosted, and the 1st half mile wasn't even fast. And then he had nothing left to battle Keen Ice. Hope he still runs the Classic though.
