Me too?

I realize lotsa "sports fans", specifically Guys who can't deal with non male on male sports , like to shit on the WNBA, but it's still pretty popular. I'm sure the NBA would shut it down if it didn't do well. I'm thinking the Olympic Women's Team helped.

I'm surprised they still exist too. I think what they did right was just limit the league to a few cities.

Judging by the Grandpa Papouli thread, I'm not sure the OP is aware that other forums exist.

I preferred the Storm to the Sonics (when they were in town). Better environment for kids, and players who seem more human.

Yep. We have a team.

Some bitch I used to work with had her cubicle littered with their merchandise. I can't stand the WNBA. I'm surprised it is still in existence.

I don't have links or anything to back it, but I could have swore that I read somewhere that the WNBA loses money every year.

I have only watched a couple of games because of her:

She's a great basketball player, plus she's cute.

Is the WNBA doing well now? I thought they were still bleeding money, though shutting down a few teams seemed to have helped (they also don't seem to spend as much on advertising).

We used to have a team but they sold them because they couldn't even sell out the lower bowl for games.

This league sucks ass and eventually will die off but give them credit -- at least they're a professional basketball league that doesn't primarily run the isolation or two-man offense.

Re: Wow, the WNBA still exists.

I bet the WNBA would do alot better if they actually played during the basketball season. The NBA drags out there season for so long that everybody is tired of basketball at that time.

I'm not sure how this would work... don't they use the same facilities as the NBA teams? Also, wouldn't they be directly competing against big brother?

No, the WNBA is filler basketball. During the NBA season, NO ONE would be watching. It's like indoor football leagues running in the NFL off season.

They could work around for open dates. The Lakers,Clippers and Kings all share Staples Center so it could work. No one wants to go inside in the summertime to watch the WNBA or Indoor Football(has the league folded yet?)

Re: Wow, the WNBA still exists.

The Arena Football League canceled their 2009 season, although they are technically still in existence. I'm not sure why I know that, but I do.

They're pretty popular here, maybe more-so now that we lost the Sonics but kept the Storm.

Bleeding? Nice try, seeing whether or not we have absorbed your hidden meaning. I think I speak for the majority when I ask that you please quit stringing us along with your obscure tampon references.... period!

I was just starting to watch the AFL last couple years.
I thought it was more fun to watch than the WNBA.

Re: Wow, the WNBA still exists.

I never liked the WNBA, I couldnt take it seriously despite SA having a team. Than they made the finals and I paid a bit of attention to see if they could win. Than I gotta admit I got a bit of a crush on Becky Hammon... despite her constant gum chewing seeming a bit 'butchy'

Whos is your pic Dx, and how did you get one of her in the bathroom?
