2006 Fantasy Football Week 8 Advice Thread

DEFENSE:

San Diego hosting STL

or

New Orleans hosting BAL

Keep in mind I start Tory Holt and Stephen Jackson

I also have the opportunity to pick up Arizona @ GB

What would you do?

My boss wants alexander.
With hasselbeck hurt, i have no QB.
I want a good quarterback.--FA quaterback list absolutely sucks.

Is c. palmer for alexander a good trade? What would you do? I have jones-drew, l. washington, t. henry, c. taylor and c. dillon as my RBs....all of them playing pretty huge for me lately. I dont see not having alexander being a huge loss in my running game, if my QB can put up at least 10-15 f points/game. What do you think?

I have a tough decision this week for my flex player: Ahman Green vs. Arizona, Greg Jennings vs. Arizona, or Leon Washington vs. Cleveland.

Well, there's no guarantee that Washington will get carries week to week. They are still goign with the hot hand. Barlow will still get GL carries. Green had a good game, but they are using him less and less. 10-15 carries isn't what you want. With the way Favre has been playing, I'd go with Jennings.

Yeah I'd go with Jennings too.

Julius Jones at Carolina
or
Lamont Jordan vs Pittsburgh

Also, I have to play Stallworth vs Jacksonville assuming he plays because my other receivers are on bye. If he doesn't play I guess I'll have to pick somebody up.

You might have to wait a bit until the DAL QB situation sorts out to really make a good choice. If I had to answer now, I'd say Jones with all the issues the CAR LB core is having.

Pitt gave up a ton of points and a ton of yards to the Falcon rushers. I think that was because they had to respect Vick's abilities. Walter does not have those abilities. They will key on Jordan, who has ONE good game this whole year. With Fargas taking carries, you have to consider Jones the stronger play.

Greg Jennings hurt his ankle during the last game and there's a good chance he won't be playing this Sunday. Washington played very well Sunday.

Yep, just making this a harder question. I also have Cotchery. Lots of good players. I actually had 39 points on my bench last week (Barlow, Washington, Green, Cotchery). I gotta figure out which will have the TDs this week so I can start 'em.

I'd say that's a fair deal since you are desperate for a qb and have some servicible rb's. I'm curious who the fa qbs are, though.

I think Favre is actually a pretty good start this week.

Which would you start:

Rivers or Bulger @ QB.

They play each other.

I'd just start Bulger over Rivers, just going on proven track records. You really never know when San Diego is going to get into a game where they get up early, and Marty starts playing not to lose. Rivers needs a larger body of work to pull from before you can start him over Bulger, except in extreme situations.

Bulger is playing better than QB not named McNabb. He's the man until further notice.

No way. Palmer isn't playing well enough to warrant that trade. Honestly, I see Favre and Palmer as pretty equal right now. He's playing well, and with the running game working, he's getting more time to throw. I'd pick up Favre and hold onto Alexander for the playoffs.

Two tough calls for me.

First I need to start a QB. Should it be Brady (vs. Vikings) or Vick vs. Bengals.

Second, I need to start 2 of the following WRs:

TO vs. Carolina
Muhammad vs. 49ers
D. Jackson vs. KC

Leaning towards leaving BRady in and sitting D. Jackson this week because of the QB situation in SEattle.

Vick had a once in a career game last week. Won't happen again any time soon. Even with that monster game, his season stats are only modest. Brady is a big time QB. You play him.

As for WR, ALL of them take a downgrade. TO has Romo, Moose has Grossman coming off a 7 TO game, and DJack has Wallace. TO is the best option, and I might go with DJack since he's the #1 guy and Wallace will probably be looking to go to him as much as possible.

Think Jerry Porter will be a good start now that he's back with The Raiders?

Joe Horn vs. Ravens
Eddie Kenison vs. Seahawks
Braylon Edwards vs. Jets

I wouldn't start Joey Porter... Davis has let talented players sit because of a grudge before, and that's even not taking into consideration how sorry the Oakland offense is.

Meanwhile, I'm pretty much forced to start Wali Lundy this week... anyone know if he has the starting job in Houston now? It's either him, Brandon Jacobs, or Michael Turner, because of a brutal bye week where Kevin Jones and Portis are sitting (Portis, please recover!).
