The HOF voters should be VERY ashamed of themselves for passing him over. For all he did for the Negro leaguers, let alone his talent on the field, it was ludicrous to leave him out.

It is a TRUE SHAME what happened this past year and there's no way they can make up for it. I can't wait to hear the take on this on the Dan Patrick show next Monday. Keith Oberman is going to EXPLODE! And he should, it's a crime the man wasn't put in the HOF.

Count me as another one who feels outraged that Buck wasn't voted into the Hall of Fame while he was still alive. Hearing him talk about how great it would have been to be in the Hall, it seriously broke my heart.

Yep. Fuck the HOF voters. Buck deserved much more than he got. He was even gracious to provide the opening speech this year at the HOF. Classy guy and did alot for baseball.

He was one of the all-time best interviews on Jim Rome's radio show. Count me in as another who is ashamed of the baseball HOF.

I've been ashamed of the baseball HOF for a couple of decades now. Great players should be enshrined during their lifetime, without regard to color, popularity, or politics. To wait until their death to put a player that you KNOW is HOF-worthy into the Hall is a travesty.

I'm talking about Buck O'Neil right now, but isn't this argument true about ALL players who have earned enshrinement through the sheer weight of their on-field numbers?

Edited to add:
I think it could easily be argued that the disappointment he felt when the HOF did not elect him in last year accelerated his decline.

It is a travesty that Buck O'Neil is not in the HOF. He was the only surviving member at the time and they still couldn't him in.
