And meanwhile, Maurice Cheeks is the new coach of the Sixers, with Jim O'Brien let go.

What's the life expectancy of a 76ers coach these days, about 6 months? At least Cheeks has the former sixer mojo working for him

And the Magic rehire Brian Hill as their coach, along with their GM John Weisbrod leaving.

I think the 76ers wanted Cheeks for some time, but he was already under contract. Definitely a good fit though.

Damn...Portland got lucky and will get Chris Paul or Marvin Williams. If they draft Paul, they'll have Telfair and Paul for the back-court in place of Van Exel and Stoudamire.

I picked that up from NBA.com, but it looks like they didnt adjust for the coin tosses, so the Lakers actually have the 10th pick not the 9th.

On espn, andy katz said the lakers most likey will pick sean may, then on espn.com, chris ford said felton and on draftcity.com they have the lakers picking jack, why can't there be a consensus on what's going to transpire.

It's way too early for them to have a consensus pick.

That's the thing for the Blazers. Assuming that Marvin Williams goes 1 and Andrew Bogut 2... their best option might be to try and get the 5th and 13th from the Bobcats for #3 (who are desperate for Paul). Otherwise they're going to be stuck picking Gerald Green or something at #3. They're not really in need of another small PG.

Hmm, wonder if the Spurs will go after Grant Hill. He might be had cheap and he and Duncan are good friends.

I'm no GM, but I would stay the hell away from Andrew Bogut with my top pick. 7 foot white guys and first round picks just don't go together very well.

The Blazers would be moronic not to go for such a deal if it becomes available. But it is the Blazers we are talking about here - they'll probably draft the most questionable/troubled fuck in the pool.

It makes no sense whatsoever. And I'm not seeing it in the Orlando Sentinel, so I'm not buying it.

You don't start both of them at the same time. Derek Anderson would start at SG. Telfair would probably start and Paul would come off the bench, a la Andre Miller and Earl Boykins. If they both do extraordinarily well, then Portland has great trade-bait. But, they will probably trade down from the #3 pick because word has it that Portland is huge on Green and probably Bogut, Paul, Marvin and Deron Williams would be picked 1-4. But who knows, the year Kwame Brown was picked #1 overall, he made a hugh jump up their from where he was projected prior to the draft workouts. If they pick Green, they'd have a whole bunch of high school draft picks- Miles, Telfair, Green, Outlaw. They could potentially smoke a lot of weed and beat up a lot of people.

I'll be pissed if the magic draft another high schooler. Then need to get a scoring 2 guard since dumbass Weisbrod traded Mobley.

Nah, the Lakers can add him to their army of small forwards. Though I agree it makes no sense to trade him, unless he wanted the max or something.

2004-05 NBA ALL-DEFENSIVE SECOND TEAM
Forward Tayshaun Prince, Detroit
Center Marcus Camby, Denver
Guard Chauncey Billups, Detroit
Forward Andrei Kirilenko, Utah
Guard Jason Kidd, New Jersey
Guard Dwyane Wade, Miami
And why are there six players on the all-defensive second team? Didn't know Hughes was that good defensively...
