I don't have a good feeling with Dempster on the mound today for the Cubs

Opening Day festivities begin at 12.

Anyone know who is going to throw out the opening pitch? I thought they were trying to keep it a secret.

Edit: I guess I should have checked Boston Dirt Dogs. Its Tedy Bruschi

yup, big day for Boston fans. Congrats. Maybe the Sox and the Yanks will start playing better in this series.

Any TV (besides paid MLBtv) outside of New England for the ceremonies?

ESPN? Free MLBtv? YES? On second thought.....

EDIT: Baseball Tonight is on from 2-3PM; hoping that's for the ceremony....

Hopefully the Rockies will continue the trend of giving up 10 runs per game against the Dbacks.

16 runs in 6 games for the Braves, tied with Pittsburgh for the fewest in the majors.

The bats need to wake up!

Caple's got a great article up over at ESPN about those of us still waiting for our first W.S. Recommended reading if you aren't in Red Sox Nation

Well Washburn is off to a great start. Soriano goes deep, and Young triples. 1 out, 1-0 Texas so far.

EDIT: Teixeira with a base hit, 2-0 Texas.

I'm so glad Texas couldn't find a good deal for Soriano this offseason. I love that guy.

He's way better then A-Rod in my opinion. Definitely a big clubhouse morale booster, too.

Before reading all the stuff that's come out in the papers about A-Rod since he left I wouldn't have believed it, but I certainly do now. I know at the time Soriano was about the only position player I could possible see trading A-Rod for (although I still think we got shafted in that deal, I'm not complaining as vociferously anymore ).

Well has A-Rod ever went to a team and made them into a contender?

He left Seattle, they had a monster season. He left Texas, they turned into contenders.

Washburn loads the bases, and gets out of it, somehow.... still 2-0 Texas

Wow, that should have been caught. Erstad fouled it off, and 3 Rangers chased it and it drops. Hopefully he can make them pay.

Yep, base hit. Two on, one out, Figgins coming up, and Vlad on deck.

Now, after Figgins moves the runners up 90 feet with a ground out, they put Vlad on, and are taking their chances with Anderson with the bases loaded.
