Bonds might be out for the season

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cg...s104538S71.DTL

Barry Bonds said he might miss the rest of this season following his latest knee surgery.

"I have a lot of work to do to try to get back, maybe next season, maybe by midseason," he said Tuesday after meeting with San Francisco Giants trainer Stan Conte for 1 1/2 hours.

The Giants continue to hope it will be much sooner that the seven-time NL MVP is back on the field.

He also mentioned being tired about 50 million times. Then he yelled at the media for knocking him down. What a nutjob.

crap - I actually bought Tigers tickets for when SanFran is in town. So instead of having Tigers tickets to see Barry Bonds, I just have, well, Tigers tickets.

If I was Bonds(to clairfy, I'm not ) I'd retire from baseball and never show my face again. You would never see me. I'd only go out to go on vacation. He has enough money to build everything you would need in a house to stay home a gym, movie theater, etc.

It seems kinda conveniant that he's gotten "injured" at such a great time in baseball. He's basically telling us all, "I'm gonna wait til that whole mess dies down to play again" when he projected he'd be out the season.

This has got to be one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard. He's 40. How long do you think he has?

That said, I don't think there is any way he'll miss the season. These are the kind of things he says to stir up conversation. He won't be back soon, but not the season. My guess is May sometime.

I don't think there's ever been a more fitting time for use of this smiley.

It's not exactly idiotic, but it's a stretch. He doesn't have much more time before his body breaks down.

``I'm just tired, guys. I'm really tired,'' Bonds told reporters after a 90-minute visit to the Giants' clubhouse, ostensibly to have his surgically repaired knee checked. ``You wanted me to jump off the bridge. I finally jumped. You wanted to bring me down. You finally have brought me and my family down. You've finally done it, everybody, all of you. So now go pick a different person. I'm done. I'll do the best I can.''

He'll come back before mid-season. When he doesn't hit a lot of homeruns because he can't take all those steroids, then he can say "I can't hit a lot of homeruns anymore because of my knee surgery."

I'll bet he didn't even injure his knees.

I get the feeling he'll be back sooner than later, although any comments he made don't help his cause.

I don't remember how his knee was injured. Was it a parasite?

By the way, I noticed this a while back. Does the Giants' trainer have the most unfortunate name possible or what?

I predict a retirement announcement before the all-star break.

I have not read any articles on this today but if he actually said this then I hope he really is "done".

haters!

Those of you saying that he didn't really hurt his knee probably think the moon landing was a hoax too.

I don't know why he thinks anybody should have pity or feel sorry for him.
